Bugis Junction & Bugis+ Have “2-To-Go” Christmas Dining Deals For BFFs To Catch Up Before 2017 Ends

Christmas dining deals at Bugis Junction X Bugis+

With Christmas being less than two weeks away, we are spoilt for choice with the plethora of Christmas buffets and festive dinners that are being rolled out in Singapore. Dining during the holiday season can be a lil’ harsh on the pockets for some of us, but you’ll be glad to know that they are pocket-friendly options for you and your buddies to check out this yuletide.

As most of the best things come in pairs, here are some “2-To-Go” promos at Bugis Junction and Bugis+ for you and your plus one:

1. Miam Miam – Lemon Butter Seafood Boat at $6.90 with 2 mains

When going out in twos, most people like to order three mains – two per person and one for sharing. Miam Miam seems to have recognized this trend, as they’re offering a Lemon Butter Seafood Boat at only $6.90 (U.P $9.90) with an order of 2 mains from 4 December 2017 to 12 January 2018.

Lemon Butter Seafood Boat ($6.90)

We were pleased with the variety of seafood the Seafood Boat offered, with a selection of sauteed prawns, squid, clams and mussels. The portion was a little small in size which made it more suitable as an appetizer than a main course. We also loved how the dish didn’t have the icky fishy smell, which was probably thanks to the lemon butter that gave it a nice zesty zing!

Mentaiko King Crab Aglio Olio ($20.90)

For the two mains, we had the Mentaiko King Crab Aglio Olio ($20.90) and the Souffle De Nuage ($16.90) – a curious looking dish that resembles the jiggly Japanese cheesecake. In case you’re wondering, it’s in fact tomato sauteed rice topped with foamy clouds of egg and cheese!

Souffle De Nuage ($16.90)

The souffle had a bubbly texture which felt like you were biting into foam, and while it didn’t have a very prominent taste, we loved the baked rice’s rich and strong cheesy flavour.

2. Fish & Co. – Baked seafood paella, soup and drinks for 2 at $58.95

Some seafood lovers prefer to ditch the cutlery because you can never truly say you love seafood unless you’ve eaten it with your hands. This Christmas, it’s time to get your hands dirty with Fish & Co.’s newest promotion “Rejoice in Baked Seafood Goodness” at $58.95 for 2 pax.

The promotion comes with two soft drinks, two soups of the day as well as the highlight – a gigantic seafood pot. Filled with fresh king and tiger prawns, scallops, clams, and mussels, the pot came with melted mozzarella cheese that immediately sent all cheese lovers into a frenzy. Underneath all the seafood madness was also a bed of creamy baked rice – rich with a burst of tomato flavour that blended well with the seafood and melted cheese.

3. GODIVA – 1 for 1 on soft serves

From 28-30 December, bring a friend and get your sweet tooth satisfied at GODIVA  with their “buy one get one freepromotion on their soft serves.

We had two of their festive flavours – the Dark Chocolate Soft Serve and the Twist Chocolate Soft Serve which was a mix of dark and white chocolate. Usually priced at $9 per cone, we split it among ourselves and only paid $4.50 each after the promotion. Definitely worth it for a cone of atas soft serve.

Holiday Assorted Chocolate Pieces

It’s a shame that ice cream isn’t something you can tapao, but you can share the goodness with your loved ones by getting them GODIVA chocolates. The premium chocolates are packed in Holiday Assorted Chocolate Gift Boxes with Christmas-themed packaging like Christmas trees ($62) and teddy bears ($52).

If you’re looking for a creative 2-in-1 gift, get the Holiday Tree Shaped Pouch with Assorted Chocolate ($35) which comes with a box of chocolates in a Christmas tree pouch. After devouring the chocolates, you can use the pouch as a pillow or pencil case!

4. Bangkok Jam

Thai dining set for 2 at $48.80++

Even if you have no plans for a BKK getaway this Christmas, you can still get the full, authentic Thai experience at Bugis Junction. Make sure you come with an empty stomach because Bangkok Jam is offering a Red, Hot and Merry Set for 2 ($48.80++) from now till the end of December.

The set comes with a whopping 3 starters – the Spicy Mango Salad, Red Tom Yum with prawns, and the Appetiser Platter with fish cakes, spring rolls and fried chicken mid-joint. Trust us when we say that the starters alone are enough to fill you up.

Baby Back Ribs

You also get to choose one out of 3 mains which are the Grilled Chicken Thigh, Baby Back Ribs and Green Curry. The Baby Back Ribs topped the list for us, coming in thick but tender slices that were easy to chew and succulent with every bite. On its own, the ribs were already flavourful and sweet, but feel free to add a hint of citrus by dipping it in some Thai-style chilli and lime dipping sauce.

You and your date will also be served two glasses of Roselle Cooler. Served with strips of pandan leaves, the tastes almost like ribena, only tangier.

Free mango salad with 4 diners

You may be planning to eat at Bangkok Jam again after the 2-To-Go promo, only this time with a larger group of friends. If so, you’re in luck because the restaurant will be offering an exclusive promotion specially for the Bugis Junction outlet every Sunday to Thursday until 31 January 2018.

Groups with a minimum of 4 diners will be given a free Spicy Mango Salad worth $11.70. Mildly spicy and flavourful with crushed cashew nuts, the dish is enough to be shared among 3 people.

If you can’t decide which mains to choose from, we suggest ordering the Stir-fried Kway Teow with Chicken ($10.90++) and the Chicken in Green Curry ($14++). The green curry was thick and fragrant, with a mild kick of spiciness that wasn’t too overpowering.

Note: This offer is valid with a minimum purchase of 1 main course and 1 beverage per diner. Offer is not valid on PH, eve of PH and special occasions e.g. Valentines’ Day.

Christmas dining deals for 4 pax and above

It’s the case of “The more, the merrier” when it comes to sharing the joy of Christmas, so here are some dining deals for those who want to celebrate in larger groups!

1. Seoul Garden – complimentary bottles of sparkling juice with 4 diners

Seoul Garden is a popular makan place for students as it is affordable and offers a wide variety of food. Now there’s a reason for you to bring the entire squad along for this Christmas dining promo.

From now till 31 December, every group with 4 paying diners will be given two bottles of Grapetiser and Appletiser.

And that’s not all – besides free drinks, you’ll also get to enjoy new festive offerings on top of Seoul Garden’s existing buffet line like Caribbean Jerk Chicken, Turkey Bacon, and Seafood Paella. We also loved the Sweet Potato Fries with kimchi mayo, which worked well as a light appetizer.

After stuffing ourselves with meat, we finished off the buffet with some Raspberry Ripple Ice Cream and topped it off with Gula Melaka syrup, cornflakes and rainbow sprinkles.

Note: Spend a minimum of $50 and stand a chance to win in the Seoul Garden Group Grand Lucky Draw. 3 sets of prizes will be given out weekly, including a Samsung Galaxy Note 8, $500 CapitaLand Vouchers, and a Universal Studio Singapore Annual Pass.

2. Flaming Don – free side dish with 5 sets order

Being one of the newest additions to Bugis+, Flaming Don is a flagship store specializing in Japanese Charcoal Grill (Yakitori) and Donburi. For those in need of some comfort food – whether it’s during lunch or dinner time – drop by the Flaming Don from now till 31 January 2018 with a group of 5 to enjoy a complimentary side dish of your choice with every 5 sets* ordered.

What makes the Flaming Don unique is that they’re a self-service concept restaurant. Since they don’t charge you for service, dining here is also cheaper and more casual compared to other Japanese restaurants.

Signature Flaming Beef Don ($17.90)

Here, you can get your yakitori fix by ordering their mains such as the Miso Buta Yaki Don ($9.90), or the Signature Flaming Beef Don ($17.90) with Australian tenderloin and honey black pepper sauce. The most exciting part of the meal had to be the moment we broke the onsen egg yolk and mixed all the ingredients together.

Soft Shell Crab ($4.90)

For sides, we had the Salmon Sashimi ($3.90), Soft Shell Crab ($4.90) and Chawanmushi ($2.90). The sides came in generously large portions, and for the price we would say that it was definitely well don.

*Note: One set meal consists of 1 main, 1 side, 1 drink+soup. Offer is not valid on PH, eve of PH and special occasions e.g. Valentines’ Day.
