Tikam2 is an app that tries to capture the element of surprise and fun many of us had while playing tikam-tikam, a game where luck was everything and you could win anything from a cheap packet of candy to an expensive toy. The Tikam2 app (pronounced as Tikam Tikam) was developed by Xhoppe, a local mobile app startup who were frustrated by the lack of thought that had gone into the entire SG50 campaign, with many SG50 promotions simply an exercise of pasting the SG50 icon on a product and calling it a SG50 celebration.
The lack of content and interaction between Singaporeans and the ubiquitous SG50 logos set the founders of Xhoppe thinking: what if we could interact with the SG50 logos simply scanning them with our smartphones? It is in this spirit that they have developed a mobile app, TIKAM2 as their gift to Singapore.
What else can you Tikam2? The Tikam2 founders have also included information about icons of SG50 and SG Heart Map on their app. So besides scanning for deals and coupons, users will also be able to find out more about our nation’s heritage.
If you dare to dream and help Tikam2 out a little, there’s one project that they’ve undertaken which needs your help. The founders envisioned a 50 days of “Back to 1965 prices” campaign where users will get to enjoy a plate of Char Kway Teow for 10 cents like the good ol’ days or buy a SIA air ticket to New York at $128. If you know of any companies or marketers who dare to dream and make this a reality reach out and contact them on their Facebook page.
This post was brought to you by Xhoppe and was co-written with Amanda Lee.
