This Airbnb In KL Has A Cascading Pool, With Stays From $26/Night

Arte Mont Kiara, KL

A cascading pool is a luxury that is usually only found at upscale island resorts. Now imagine getting to soak and float down an idyllic cascading pool – with views of city skylines, no less –  from just $26/night. That’s what Arte Mont Kiara, a serviced apartment in KL, provides. And it’ll def make you wish Singapore condos had this too.

The rest of the digs ain’t shabby, either. Having opened in 2022, the apartments are still very much fresh and well-kept, with contemporary furnishings and a cosy home-away-from-home vibe. The common areas are equally eye-catching, designed to be ultra-Instagrammable with fairytale-themed decor.

Here’s everything you need to know about Arte Mont Kiara, which you can book either via Airbnb or as a hotel stay.

Note: Prices are accurate at the time of writing and may be subject to change.

What to expect at Arte Mont Kiara

We’ll kick things off with the star of the show: a cascading pool on the building’s 30th floor, looking and feeling straight out of an island resort.

You won’t find such stunning urban landscapes on an island getaway though, so having a dip here really gets you the best of both worlds. You get to soak in that concrete jungle bird’s-eye view, while enjoying a blissfully relaxing soak away from the hustle and bustle of it all.

At night, the twinkling city lights take your dip to a whole ‘nother level.

We bet you’ll be spending a significant amount of time on your vacay making full use of the pool. But of course, you won’t be living in it. $26/night will get you Studio Apartment stay, accommodating up to 2 guests.

Come home to a cosy and vibrantly decorated unit, with a living room to kick back and watch some TV. The apartment units also have kitchenettes, so you can whip up simple meals or reheat your convenience store hauls for a comforting supper.

For a premium stay that the entire family or friend group will remember for years to come, go for this Arte Mont Kiara Duplex listing. The space accommodates up to 5 guests, and is currently being listed for $30/night – making it $6/pax. Duplex living for less than a McD meal? Uh, yes please!

If racking up gorgeous, Instaworthy shots is part of your itinerary, you’ll be pleased to know that Arte Mont Kiara’s common areas are designed to be high-level photo ops.

Right from the moment you set foot into the grand lobby, everything screams Alice In Wonderland – from stained glass windows and fancy chandeliers to thick white columns resembling towering tree trunks.

The theatrics continue at the Rooftop Sky Garden, perched at a staggering 50 floors high. Checkerboard-style floor tiles and golden stools will make you feel like you’re gallivanting on a larger-than-life chessboard. There are also intricately woven steel mesh arches all around, and yes, more chandeliers. How come Singapore condos aren’t on this level?

If fresh air is what you seek, the OTT aesthetics don’t stop there. Venture to the outdoor areas for equally stunning setups, where you can snap some pics, enjoy an al fresco gab, and take in that greenery-amidst-skycrapers vibe.

How to book a stay at Arte Mont Kiara

Arte Mont Kiara is a condo slash “aparthotel”. That means residents stay there in its capacity as a serviced apartment, but the building also operates as an apartment-style hotel for short-term guests who prefer amenities like a kitchen and spacious living room.

The good news about this duality is that you can book a stay through hotel booking platforms like Trip.com, as well as through Airbnb if you’d like to be hosted by a homeowner.

Rates wise, we managed to find listings for entire apartment units on Airbnb for under $30/night. Of course, the trade-off is that you’ll have to settle your own cleaning up after the stay. But this option is definitely economical, and great for travellers who appreciate the little touches of Airbnb accommodation – like curated travel guides from the hosts and a more personal check-in process.

If you’re more used to the turnkey process of hotel stays, Trip.com has listings from $58/night during off-peak periods, like weekdays. Not a major markup, especially for those who are seeking a hassle-free experience without dealing with the potential complications of Airbnb check-in procedures.

Where is Arte Mont Kiara?

Arte Mont Kiara is 6km from the KL City Centre, about a 15-minute Grab ride away. It’s convenient enough for your shopping hauls and other outings to the city to do touristy activities, but there are shopping and dining establishments in and near the apartment too.

Within Arte Mont Kiara, there is a Bila Bila Mart convenience store which opens till 5am on Fridays and Saturdays and 3am every other day. Swing by to stock up on bevvies and quick bites to munch on back in your fancy apartment. There is also an in-house cafe in the aparthotel called ALLO, serving savoury brunch dishes, pastries, and various brews.

A mall called Publika Shopping Gallery is a 9-minute walk away, if you’d like to explore something different from the usual Pavilion and Mid Valley. Besides having 4 storeys of retail and dining outlets to explore, it’s also an arts-centric mall which hosts occasional markets and pop-ups. Some levels are even dedicated event spaces for art showcases!

Stay at this serviced apartment in KL with a cascading pool

A spacious duplex apartment stay with a cascading pool sounds like something that would cost an arm and a leg. But with a smaller price tag than a restaurant meal in Singapore? Get to booking, ‘cause the listings are likely to be filled up once news of this next-level aparthotel makes its rounds online.

While booking through Airbnb will certainly save you more moolah, make sure to read the guest reviews of each individual listing. The upkeep and cleanliness will vary across different units, and there may be nitty-gritty inconveniences like troublesome check-in processes and stifling rules from certain hosts.

If you’d prefer a more hands-off approach, consider shelling out a bit more for a hotel stay. That way you can check in via the guest counter, live your best life, and bid adios without having to worry about chores while on vacay.
