But before you book that flight, there are a few things to take note of. Here’s everything you need to know about the aesthetic clinics in Bangkok, including the different types of treatments, things to look out for, and where to go for foreigner-friendly clinics.

It’s more than just Botox and fillers these days. There are so many options available currently, as different treatments target different concerns, from smoothing fine lines to boosting collagen production.
We’ve broken down some of the more popular treatments available at aesthetic clinics in Bangkok, so you’ll have a better idea of which treatment may be suited to your skin goals.
IV drip treatments are often considered one of the more entry-level aesthetic procedures. As the name suggests, you’ll be hooked up to an IV drip, but instead of the hydration fluids you usually get in the hospital, aesthetic clinics typically use formulations packed with vitamins, minerals, or antioxidants that are delivered directly into your bloodstream. Popular ones include the glutathione IV drip, which is often marketed for skin brightening as well as supporting healthier-looking hair and nails.
Sessions usually last 25-40 minutes, and involve a small needle inserted into your arm to administer the IV fluid. While some patients report noticing an immediate glow right after an IV drip session, the effects are often temporary as your body will naturally flush out any excess nutrients over time.
Botox is also one of the most common aesthetic treatments available, known for smoothing fine lines and wrinkles by temporarily relaxing the muscles under the skin. You might have heard the terms PDRN and Rejuran being thrown around a lot more these days, but what exactly are they? PDRN, short for polydeoxyribonucleotide, is a DNA extract that’s derived from salmon sperm and purified before being added to your skincare. Rejuran, on the other hand, is a brand of injectable treatment that uses PDRN derived from salmon DNA. So yes, in a very technical sense, you’re injecting salmon sperm directly into your face – though perhaps don’t think about it too hard.
Rejuran might sound a little trippy, but it’s known for boosting collagen production and healing your skin from the inside. Results aren’t immediate though, you’ll usually see the effects 2-3 months in, including improved skin texture, elasticity, and a glow for that glass skin look.
PRP treatments, or platelet-rich plasma treatments, might sound a little intimidating, but the process is exactly as it sounds. A small amount of your own blood is drawn and then placed in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the other components of your blood. This concentrated plasma is then injected back into the treatment area to help reduce fine lines and acne scars. There are even procedures where the plasma is injected into your scalp to help combat thinning hair and hair loss.
PRP treatments usually take around 45-60 minutes per session, with results typically visible within 2-3 weeks.
You’ll probably be more familiar with the term “fillers” than dermal fillers, but they are the same thing. Dermal fillers are all about adding volume back to your face, with most fillers being hyaluronic acid-based and injected into areas you want to plump up. It’s a little similar to Botox in theory, but dermal fillers are placed deeper into the tissue as compared to Botox.
Dermal fillers are also commonly used to accentuate your features – think fuller lips or a straighter nose bridge. The treatment is usually over in under 30 minutes, and you can expect some minor swelling for roughly 2-4 weeks before being able to see the full results.
If you’re looking to treat acne scars, pigmentation, or the overall texture of your skin, you may want to consider skin texture treatments. These are usually done in the form of a laser treatment, an ultrasound treatment, or a radiofrequency treatment, with a variety available on the market.
More popular ones are Fraxel and Pico laser treatments, which use targeted light energy to reduce melasma, dark spots, or acne scarring, with the added benefit of improving the appearance of pore size if you’re doing repeated sessions.
Laser treatment durations are dependent on the area you’re targeting and the type of laser used, with a typical session taking 15-45 minutes. You’ll have to be careful after laser treatments, as your skin will be mildly irritated, with healing periods ranging from a few days to 2 weeks.
Then there’s HIFU (high-intensity focused ultrasound), which is basically a non-surgical facelift. The HIFU treatment makes use of sound waves to stimulate collagen deep within your skin to tighten and lift, all without you having to go under the knife.
A HIFU session may take anywhere from 30-150 minutes, with a full face usually taking around 60 minutes. While HIFU has virtually 0 downtime, meaning you can resume your daily routine after the session, results are usually seen after 2-3 months.
One of the more popular treatments on the market is the Oligio treatment. Oligio uses radiofrequency (RF) energy to penetrate the deeper layers of your skin, helping to stimulate collagen production and improve blood circulation. The treatment reduces fat as well as sagging skin, and can be applied not just to the face but also to the abdomen, thighs, and arms. Oligio is essentially a non-surgical method of slimming down your face.
It usually takes 30-45 minutes for a full face treatment, although the duration will vary depending on whether you’ll be treating areas such as the neck as well. While there’s no downtime, it’ll take about 2-3 months before the full results can be seen.

However, some factors can’t really be determined until you’re there, such as whether the equipment is properly sterilised or if the staff are wearing gloves.
