Hanoi’s Noi Bai Airport Made The List Of World’s Top 100 Airports, Danang Named World’s Top 10 Improved Airport

Vietnam’s airports in World’s Top 100 list in 2020

The aviation industry worldwide has taken a big hit due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Most countries are also seeing emptier airports due to a drastic plunge in commercial flights.

So far, Vietnam has been one of the very few countries in the world that has reopened its airports and domestic air routes in a bid to help reboot its aviation industry. Another piece of good news for us is that Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport has made it into the list of the World’s Top 100 Airports in 2020.

Noi Bai International Airport is ranked No. 87 on the list

The annual ranking of airports is published by Skytrax, a UK-based consultancy firm that reviews airlines and airports every year by surveying global air passengers.

This year, Noi Bai Airport is ranked No. 87 on the list, slipping 1 place from last year’s ranking.

Singapore’s Changi Airport occupied the 1st place on the list for the 8th consecutive year, and Tokyo’s Haneda Airport came second.

Noi Bai International Airport is granted a 3-star rating by Skytrax for overall experience. In particular, waiting times and service efficiency were rated 4 stars, while baggage delivery time was given 3 stars.

Noi Bai International Airport, Vietnam’s second busiest airport after Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat Airport, serves up to 25 million passengers per year and has two terminals and two runways. In 2019, the airport received 29 million passengers and was part of some of the world’s busiest air routes.

Over time, Noi Bai International Airport has made significant improvements in its operations. It also increased interaction with passengers through the use of email, hotline, social media, and the eSmile platform to collect feedback and make adjustments accordingly.

Passengers at Noi Bai International Airport are also provided with conveniences such as free wifi, free face masks, free electric vehicles, 24/7 healthcare services, disinfection chambers, and playgrounds for children.

During the social distancing period when movements were restricted, Noi Bai Airport underwent major upgrades and maintenance of operation equipment. To ensure smooth operations and safety, many areas in the airport such as the terminals, airport buses, and information desks were disinfected thoroughly.

Noi Bai International Airport has improved immensely over the past few years, after being named one of Asia’s worst airports in 2014 by the The Guide To Sleeping in Airports.

Da Nang International Airport

Da Nang, often called Vietnam’s most liveable city, also welcomes good news as its international airport was named among the World’s Top 10 Improved Airports by Skytrax.

Earlier in August 2019, Da Nang International Airport’s Terminal 2 was given 4 stars for its overall services by Skytrax.

With stunning landscapes and friendly local residents, Da Nang has become a highly popular tourist spot in the past few years.

After expanding to 15 international air routes, the city’s tourism hit record high in 2019 with over 8 million visitors.

Vietnam’s international airports in World’s Top 100 list

Vietnam’s aviation industry is one of the fastest-growing in the world, according to Airport Council International. Thanks to active promotion of tourism through branding campaigns and innovations in service sectors, Vietnam has been seeing constant growth in the number of international tourists.

To make sure that tourists can enjoy the most of their time here from the moment they land in the country, Vietnam is increasing its efforts in upgrading the infrastructure, operations, and service quality of its airports.
