High school is probably one of the most memorable times of our lives. It is during these youthful years that we meet our first crushes, take up our first part-time job, and start thinking about what we want to be in the future.
As the years pass by, we might fall out of touch with many of our high school friends, but looking at old yearbook pictures featuring them will always bring a smile to our faces.
It is understandable, then, that a group of Vietnamese students recently wanted to make the most out of their final days in high school. In their yearbook photos, they have come up with hilarious quotes for everyone to have a good laugh over.

This hilarious yearbook was a creation of grade 12 students at the Hạ Long High School for Gifted Students. Originally shared on the school’s Facebook page, it quickly gained popularity thanks to its humor.
For instance, in one of the pictures, a student named Nguyễn Trần Minh Quang wrote, “Don’t give up on your dreams. Keep sleeping.”

In another, student Nguyễn Tiến Thăng said, “Without Google, I would not be graduating.” Sure, we all make fun of the quote, but if you stop for a moment and think about it, the young man’s got a point.

Vũ Diệu Huyền, on the other hand, claimed that for her, “Love is like breakfast. Break-fast,” alluding to its short-lived nature.

Speaking of love, Trần Ngọc Thanh Tú has a pretty specific requirement for her ideal man: an 80-year-old billionaire with heart disease and a handsome grandchild. Love transcends all boundaries, I guess.

Meanwhile, Trần Phương Anh seems very serious about her education compared to romance, saying that, “You might be a 10, but I’d rather have a 10 in my university entrance exam.”

Nguyễn Trung Tuyến simply captioned his picture: “A line connecting a peak of a triangle to the midpoint of the opposite side.” We were pretty puzzled by the seemingly random definition, until we looked at the student’s name: That’s precisely what a trung tuyến (median in Vietnamese) is. Props to the guy to use his own name to create a memorable yearbook quote.

Understandably, netizens are fascinated by the yearbook. Thousands have flocked to Facebook posts about it to shower the students’ ideas with praise such as “cute” or “đỉnh”, meaning “top-notch”.

Some also tagged their friends to suggest that they do something similar with their own class yearbooks.

The yearbook will no doubt be another great memory to add to the students’ school nostalgia as they look back years from now. Props to these young souls for coming up with creative ideas to enjoy their youth to the fullest.
