While the hustle and bustle of human activity is part of Hanoi’s unique charm, sometimes you can’t help but feel a bit suffocated amidst the busy streets.
During these moments, retreat to one of these 9 rooftop bars in Hanoi for an elevated view above it all.

Perched atop the 11-story O’Gallery Classy Hotel, O’Sky Bar offers an unobstructed view of the iconic Hoan Kiem lake. Being head and shoulder above the surrounding buildings, this is also an ideal location to enjoy the sunset over the city.
The bar itself is a warm space boasting a marble counter set on an elevated floor as well as a mismatched assortment of rattan chairs and sofas.

Touted as one of the most ambitiously designed sky bars of Hanoi, Moonlight Sky Bar takes a daring step in bringing one of Hanoi’s most iconic symbols into its space.

Right as you enter this outdoor venue, you’ll be greeted by a huge octagonal bar at the center, whose bright light is soothed by the wooden floor and flowering plants adorning the area.

The real highlight, though, is a huge replica of the Long Bien Bridge – a historical landmark of Hanoi – woven around the second floor. As you walk across this replica, the real bridge can clearly be seen in the distance.

It is believed that in ancient times, the Red River flowed much closer to Hanoi and Hang Be Street (Street of the Raft) was a popular riverside trade spot. Located on the same street, Lighthouse Sky Bar takes this history as an inspiration for its name and design.

The place is built to resemble a cruise ship with the bar on the bow overlooking the Hanoi Old Quarter. The stern at the back, meanwhile, turns toward the Red River. Both sections feature outdoor seating with comfy sofas facing the open sky.
The bar’s cocktails start at VND210,000 (~USD9.06)

While you are here, be sure to try out Lighthouse’s signature “La Sélection” (VND245,000, ~USD10.54). Leaning back on the sofa with this beautiful concoction of Black Smirnoff Vodka, Campari, rose syrup, and lime juice in your hand, you’ll feel as if you were actually sailing off into the sunset.

When a bar has the audacity to call itself Top of Hanoi and stands unchallenged for years, you can bet it has the quality to back up that claim. Located on the 67th floor of the Lotte Center building, this spacious outdoor bar is the highest bar in the city and opts for a simplistic design to draw the focus to the stunning scenery around.
Being in such a high place means it can get rather cold up here, so it is recommended that you bring a coat. The bar also has a dress code wherein customers are asked not to wear flip-flops or sleeveless shirts, so do keep that in mind as well.

Drink-wise, the signature Faint Smoky cocktail (VND210,000, ~USD9.04) is one you should go for here. The strong taste of whisky combined with the sweetness of honey and the pungency of cinnamon will warm you right up.
