Bông lan trứng muối – sponge cakes topped with cheese, salted eggs, and meat floss – is a dish you’ll see at a lot of bakeries around Vietnam, as it’s well-loved for its delicious flavor that combines sweetness, saltiness, and creaminess. And if you’re in Đà Nẵng, hit up Napom Bakery for some of the best bông lan trứng muối in town.

Yes, bông lan trứng muối at Napom is sublime, but the bakery’s more secluded location toward the northern edge of Đà Nẵng means delivery fees can quickly rack up if you happen to live on the other side of the city as I do. If you find yourself in this situation, Vani Bakery is another great option to grab this delicious dish.
Vani’s bông lan trứng muối (VND60,000, ~USD2.59) is neck-and-neck with Napom’s with its generous amount of sauce thoroughly mixed with crushed salted eggs. Meanwhile, the bakery’s central location right underneath the Dragon Bridge at the heart of the city means you can easily drop by whenever you head downtown, and no matter where you are, ordering deliveries won’t empty your wallet.

You’ll also find here plenty of other cake options to sink your teeth into, from cream-filled choux cream (VND40,000, ~USD1.73) to cute heart-shaped tiramisu (VND40,000, ~USD1.73), all of which are served fresh and yummy.

Or if you’re craving a more Western taste, try one of the many sandwiches, toasts, or eggs here, which come at reasonable prices of roughly VND40,000-VND50,000 (~USD1.73-USD2.16) each.
