On about the 8th December I did an online order to be delivered on the 12th.
The flowers were delivered on the 12th within the time scale indicated but when i returned home on the 17th I was appalled to see dead flowers after 5 days ... my wife took pictures shortly after delivery and I was astounded they were obviously not fresh and already half withered.
OK .. having had no complaints in the past, I decided to write to Far East and did so on the 19th December. One month later they have not even had the courtesy to acknowledge my complaint and have lost a regular customer. The new philosophy appears to be taken your money, given you something, so no need to have any customer interaction thereafter.
Appalling waste of money this time.

They made us smile this Valentine’s day

Companies risk overpromising with bold taglines like “Make someone smile today”, but this Valentine’s FEFF did. Being the middleman in my best friend’s LDR meant I had to get the flowers. Her boyfriend commissions and the bespoke bouquet appears.

It was a fuss-free checkout and the zopim chat system made it easy to get assistance. I’d sent in the message with an emoji and it had turned into a “J” in the confirmation email. The boyfriend’s quite the stickler for details so I zopimed the friendly FEFF staff and they made the changes immediately.

FEFF made my best friend smile from ear to ear this Valentine’s, with the freshest white lily bouquet, with the updated message minus the “J”. I’d say tell have every right to their bold claim.

fresh flowers at wholesale prices

I visited Far East Flora in Thomson to get a bouquet of flowers for my friend’s birthday, and was delighted at the huge array of imported fresh cut prices available at wholesale prices. The place was already pretty busy even though they had only just opened, so I was left on my own to navigate the premise on my own.

The Cold Room, which I passed by repeatedly thinking it was a staff-only area, was filled with a variety of flowers to choose from. There’s also pre-made bouquets, which look really pretty too. I settled for a bundle of pastel pink and white Gerberas ($3.80/bundle), and headed outside to buy materials to make the bouquet. It’s all very DIY, there’s even a station next to the counted to cut off stems if they’re too long. The staff were all very friendly and even helped me arrange the flowers properly despite being very busy with their own work. I really like the selection of flowers, and will surely go back to Far East Flora if I ever need flowers again!

A nice stop to smell the roses - but do manage your expectations

As a child, Far East Flora was a definite stop-over for my family while making Chinese New Year preparations. I will always recall the hours my relatives would spend poring over which potted lime plants and sprays of flowers would best suit our place, while my sister and I entertained ourselves playing hide-and-seek between the seemingly endless rows of plants.

It's been a while since I visited the nursery, and having been around the Thomson area recently, I decided to drop by to see if I could get a small surprise for my mum.

The place hadn't seemed to change much, though it did seem a little quieter from what I'd remembered and carried fewer varieties of plants (possibly owing to the post-festive season and recent flood risks). Nonetheless, I was most pleasantly surprised by the service there, where the staff at the nursery were most cheerful and ready in offering the *ahem* not-so-green-fingered me much useful advice in choosing a suitable plant and how to care for it. While I'm not an expert in valuing plants, prices for the plants did appear quite reasonable (though perhaps not the lowest you can find), with most medium sized plants ranging about $8-12.

On the whole, my experience at the nursery was definitely a satisfactory one, but those with a keener eye for greenery might find it a bit limited in terms of the variety of its offerings.
