Founded in 1973 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Crabtree & Evelyn has evolved from a small, family-run business to an international company, respected for its naturally inspired remedies and home comforts. Long before the 'natural' and 'wellness' movement became popular, Crabtree & Evelyn was wholeheartedly embracing the riches of the natural world. Their inspirational model is the early home apothecary.
This ultra thick hand cream that works so well at keeping my hands smooth and moisturized. My mother and sisters love it as well and we all have our own tube of hand therapy!! Despite its thickness, the cream absorbs really well and the best part is that it does not leave any stickiness behind. Just smooth and great-smelling hands!
My favorite scent would be the Avocado, Olive & Basil one cos it smells so fruity, natural and refreshing. If you love flowery scents, the Iris one is not too bad. My mother loves it but I'm just not a fan of flowery scents. The squeeze tube also makes it light, portable and handy to use it on-the-go.
Their food items are also amazing. I love their White Chocolate & Lemon cookies as well as their Strawberry Jam!! Yummy sweet treats. C&E also has lots of gift boxes and well-wrapped hampers during the festive season and they make great gifts for your loved ones. I love C&E and if you haven't jumped onto the bandwagon yet, please hurry!!! You'll not regret it :)
Their products do seem to be on the pricier range but I assure you that it is worth every dollar. It is very luxurious and comforting to use. I love the Goatmilk bar soaps (comes in a pack of 3 for $24). But the hand therapy has been an all-time favourite of mine. It makes your hands irresistibly soft that would leave you marveling over the magical transition! For the hand therapy I like the Nantucket Briar fragrance but you might have your own preference.
Many new fragrances like Somerset meadow, Himalayan blue, Avocado &basil come and go but I’m somehow always drawn towards the classic signature collection. The La Source foot products like the ultra-moisturising foot remedy, foot soak are great for smoothening our dry skin. But I have to warn you that it is usually out of stock.
I usually visit the outlet in Ngee Ann City or Centrepoint. Even though the Centrepoint outlet is much smaller than the Ngee Ann one their service is just as good! But beware of the outlet in Junction 8 where the staff (whom I’m guessing are newbies) seemed blur and lazily stretched her arms in an already crowded store! Furthermore when I went there with my mom, the cashier billed us wrongly.
So just steer clear of that outlet. I would recommend you to become a member as there are many perks and it’s a lifetime membership. Hence you wouldn’t have to go through the hassle of renewing it. Lastly, I just have to say how much I love their Christmas gift bags (their designs change every year)! You can just ask the sales girl outside the store and they would hand you the appropriate number of bags for the products you have purchased. This is only available during the Christmas season. Even their normal shopping bags are just as nice and it’s perfect for gift-giving!
My all time favorite scent is Rosewater; I love how the floral scent of their Rosewater products is light yet long lasting, girly and demure yet not too mature. I would recommend the rosewater perfume for school or casual Saturday brunch dates! Other must try fragrances that i highly recommend are Iris, Lavender and Lily.
Apart from hand care products, Crabtree and Evelyn also retails their very own range of cookies , and my personal favorite is non other than their 'White Chocolate and Raspberry' cookies. The Belgian white chocolate chunks are hughe and generous, and they go exceptionally well with the sweetness of the raspberries. The cookies are not too buttery, and each possess just the right amount of crunch for a delectable afternoon snack.
It’s definitely worth the sometimes hefty price tag. Moreover, the service staff is very approachable, polite and courteous. My only complaint is that the outlet I usually visit, the one in Tampines Mall, is rather small.
I've love their hand creams since i was in Polytechnic and that was a really really long time ago.
I'm still using them now and i love their new fragrances (Citron, Gardeners) even more than the usual Rose and Lavender scented ones. They really work for me, very thick and creamy but don't leave much of a greasy residue and works into the skin really easily, especially in an air-conditioned environment.
The only complaint i have is with their sales attendants. I wished they were more pro-active in approaching and engaging their customers. I was wandering about the store at Parkway and at Ngee Ann City and on both occasions, no one came to ask if i needed any assistance.
I shop very often at the Centrepoint branch and the service is rather consistent as well. The assistants did not look at me differently as my hands would sometimes be red and sore from using the wrong stuff. They always could recommend me suitable things to use.
Un-wrapping the beautifully wrapped gift, I caught a whiff of a beautiful fragrance of flowers flowing in the warm summer breeze. In the gift was a collection of Crabtree & Evelyn's Summer collection of bath gel, body lotion and hand cream.
It's no secret that I still love it as it will always remind me of Christmas.
I instantly fell in love with the cream the moment I applied it on my hands. The smell is sweet, nice and heavenly. It's very moisturizing and left my hands soft the whole day. Truly a great purchase.
Crabtree is a nice place if you're looking for a beauty gift set as they come in various travel sizes and wrapped prettily for that special occasion.
Crabtree & Evelyn has grown to become one of my regular places to shop for gifts for most occasions. I got many other girl friends hooked on the hand cream as well.
