I was enrolled into Rosyth School in 2012 which means I’m only 13 this year. My older sister, who was 2 years older than me, was already enrolled in the school, thus making it easier for me to get into the school. I remembered that I didn’t think much of it because I was only 7, what would I know? But never would I have thought that the next 6 years in Rosyth School would change my life forever.
I was never the most well behaved student but all the teachers throughout my primary school life have taught me to become a better person. They taught me values, discipline and respect. The teachers in Rosyth School are really one of a kind. They are patient with the students, understanding and kind. I do know that at times, teachers can be fierce or stern but it’s all to benefit the students. They care for each and every student’s well being and always make sure that they are coping well. The teachers in Rosyth School really played a big part in my wonderful primary school life, and I will never forget what all of them have done for me.
I was in the athletics CCA. The coaches were the best of the best. To be a good coach, you don’t have to have great credentials or be the fittest person. You need to understand and connect with the athletes and be able to teach them all you know. I enjoyed every single training because of my coaches teammates. Without them, I wouldn’t have discovered my talent for long distance. I wouldn’t have experienced representing my school in the nationals. I’m not bragging about myself, all I’m saying is, without them, I wouldn’t have reached my fullest potential. Yes, training was very tough, but that’s how trainings should be. I never missed a single training for the 2 years I was in the CCA because I wanted to make sure that I train myself as hard as possible. But whenever I felt weak, tired, fatigued or just not feeling good about myself, my coaches and teachers in charge would always make sure I recover properly and feel better. Therefore i am very greatful.
The overall school environment is great. When I was still in Rosyth School, there were many changes and upgrades to the school throughout the years. From putting up more posters about various events being held to having dance and sports play stations being put up. All these cost a lot of money, but no money can compare to the students well being in Rosyth.
I feel that the principals, vice principals, HODs and teachers really did an amazing job running the school. They made sure that whenever they encountered a problem, the students were their priority. All the school leaders never put themselves before the students, it was always students, students, students. How will the students benefit from this? Will the students like this? How can we enhance their learning? Are all the students coping well? These questions were the main topic in their heads.
The teachers were always focused during class to make sure they made full use of the lesson time.
They, plus all the wonderful schoolmates I had, and all the experiences exposed to us, really made the 6 years a memorable one, and I will never, ever forget what Rosyth School had done for me.
Even now, I still go back to Rosyth to help out with athletics, and it’s always a joy to see fellow Rosythians and teachers.
All this, changed my life forever
Thank you

This school had made a name for itself. Many parents use all measures, moving closer to the school, doing volunteer work and even make vast monetary contributions to the school just for their child to enter the school. I do not know what makes so many parents want to send their child to the school, but I have a word of advice for parents prospecting to send their children there, don't.

I entered the school not because of its name or anything, but rather because I lived rather close and it was convenient to go to and fro from school. But honestly, after experiencing the school itself, I really wished I had gone to another primary school even if there would be inconvenience in travelling. Contrary to popular belief, their teaching methods are no where near extraordinary and are in fact pretty laid back and lousy, and I am proud to say that I got a pretty good PSLE score out of my own efforts in my studies and not because I was taught well.

Amongst the teachers, I would admit that there are the passionate and caring few, but the rest are really below average. In this school, for the first time I met even met a teacher who is really lazy and would give worksheets to do while she munched on titbits in class! To make things worse, their disciplinarians and principals really lack judgement and common sense. I was accused for something that I did not do more than once, and because of their gross lack in analytical ability and ability to execute fair and reasonable investigation and judgement, I was punished for things I did not do. I will remember them forever for those things, and for those parents who want to send your kids there for extraordinary/gifted teaching methods, I urge that you reconsider.

Primary school has definitely been one of the greatest transitions of my life so far. I was enrolled to Rosyth School in 2003 and it has been an eventful and fruitful six years to say the least. Back in Primary One, I can still remember the overwhelming anxiety and disappointment saying goodbye to my parents at the school gate as I lumbered into the school compound with an exceptionally heavy school bag almost three-quarters of my size. Looking back, it was one of the most adorable yet significant moments of my life. Little did I know that this would mark the inevitable beginning of my education journey in Singapore.

Life in primary school was really amazing. Nurturing teachers, caring friends and a whole lot of wonderful memories. Some of the highlights of my time as a primary school student would include playing catching in the parade square during recess, building close ties with my best friend and yes, experiencing my first crush. I would not have turned out to be the person I am today without living through those six years as those inspiring teachers in Rosyth School have moulded my character to fit today’s contemporary society. I am very happy with how my primary education turned out to be and I would never change a small bit of it as it has made me a more independent and responsible person.
