Eatzi Gourmet is one of the few restaurants that is connected with several other restaurants in Singapore under the JP Pepperdine Group. Some of the other restaurants JP Pepperdine Group manages includes, Seafood Harvest, Brewbaker's, Restaurant Hoshigaoka and Jack's Place. Eatzi Gourmet is a restaurant which specializes mainly in Western Cuisine. In addition, they also serve several different local meals as well. With a relaxed ambience, everyone would be able to savour the taste of their meal at every bite.
I have to say that given the cost of the set lunches that the food and service are more than satisfactory. Students can look out for their student menu for more savings. Overall, I would revisit this restaurant again as it is definitely value for money! A bang for your buck, indeed.
I chose to eat the student meal because the price of the food on the menu are just too expensive for me. Most of the food offered are steak or seafood based so I ate carbonara instead because I personally don’t like steak. Aside from carbonara, there are also chicken cutlet, baked chicken mushroom rice etc as part of the student meal choices. The chicken cutlet was one of the best I’ve ever tried! The outside was very crispy and the chicken cutlet was big enough to make you feel really full !
The mushroom rice too received two thumbs up ! The carbonara was filled with ham bits but the taste was still so-so. I tasted some of the cakes sold there and they were pretty bad. The cakes were hard as stones and lack any ‘wow’ factor. Overall, I will come back to this place only for my beloved crispy and tender chicken cutlet.
My grandmother was hospitalised at changi hospital, and my family and I would head down to Eatzi Gourmet at the neighbouring shopping centre, Eastpoint for lunch. The range of food selection is really limited, and the only thing I could remember was their steak.
Service was good. The crew were a bunch of enthusiastic teenagers that would greet you with zeal. Food will usually arrive within 15 minutes of ordering, quite fast for a restaurant. Definitely a good place to dine in if you're time-tight.
The food served at Eatzi was not spectacular but they were palatable. The portion was moderate and the prices were justifiable. Nice enough for Eatzi to be our first choice when dining out with our Muslim friends.
I would say that my family and I are pretty regular customers there. We visit the restaurant once every few months. Well, that shows that there's something worth to return back for. For different people, it may be for different reasons. Personally, I'm a huge fan of steaks! I LOVE steaks! So I may be a little more bias towards the steak category. Thus, I recommend trying out any of the steaks there! I usually get the N.Z Ribeye Steak with Brown Sauce. Maybe you could try that for a start and I love the potato that comes together with the dish. It is topped with a white sauce and those bacon bits which goes so good together.
Service wise, I would say that it is pretty good. Staff are friendly and approachable. Nothing bad to say about the service really. Other than that, if you're lucky you may get the seats by the window which overlooks the Bedok neighbourhood with occasional trains passing by.
Check out my blog for pictures and detailed opinions on the individual dishes!
