Maimunah is a place to indulge yourself in Indonesian food. It has the most exquisite and original Indonesian food that one can possibly find in Singapore. The chicken curry, beef rendang, tahu goreng (fried beancurd) is just so popular that you can expect it to be sold out by about 4pm in the afternoon. So, if you go there in the evening, chances are that the good food would have been sold out. The place is clean and air-conditioned. It offers free mineral drink (which is not always the case in other places!) It also sells Indonesian snacks and kueh2, which are very rare in Singapore (real Indonesian taste!) It is also rightly situated near a string of desert areas (so, you can go for desert after lunch! :) It's a popular place around SMU area where students are already bored of the eateries around, and want to try something new. A plus point is of course the so-affordable price for a plate of yummy food! It normally costs just about $2.5 to $5 for a set meal! The set meal comes with an unlimited refill of beverages (i.e. bandung, ice lemon tea, raspberry, etc.) This is definitely worth the money! Situated about 150 m from Bras Basah MRT, this is certainly a heaven for food-lover, especially Indonesians. It is a must-try.
