Mission Wendy’s operates under the five values of Quality, Integrity, Respect, Pride, and Responsibility. Our goal is to be better than the rest, with high-quality, great-tasting food, clean comfortable surroundings, and fast friendly service. Description When Dave Thomas opened the first Wendy’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers restaurant, he created something new and different – high quality food made with the freshest ingredients. Quality was so important to Dave that he put the phrase ‘Quality is our Recipe’ on the logo. Wendy’s is known for its square ground beef hamburger patties that hang over the bun, made with the customer’s choice of toppings.
However, I’m sure Wendy’s has amassed a considerable fan base for its burgers and food as it opened numerous stalls in Singapore after its initial opening. I don’t mind eating Wendy’s burgers, just that I would stick to my safer options of McDonalds or KFC if i had the choice!
Wendy's is also a nice place to just sit and talk over some snacks, it will never be too crowded, I wonder why though.
Other than ice cream and the other awesome side dishes, their meals are also really great. Rather expensive, but worth it! I also like their fries, fat and hand cut.
The food also tastes great and is very affordable. I order their naturally-cut fries all the time - the potato skin adds a nice touch in terms of texture, and visually as well! I also highly recommend the cheeseburger - the patty is flavourful and juicy, and I feel that Wendy's take on the classic burger is better than the average fast-food joint's, perhaps second only to Carl's Jr's.
Finish up your meal with their signature Frosty float - the soft serve ice cream is incredibly smooth and rich, definitely worth the $2+ it costs!
Baked potatoes, chicken and cheeseburgers. You name it, Wendys has it. With their hand cut fries really putting Burger King's straight cuts to shame, Wendys makes me feel as if fast food has grown into a positive direction. Singapore needed a healthier alternative, and I feel that Wendys has it.
The spicy chicken burger and the grilled chicken burger are my two favourite burgers from Wendy’s. I prefer the spicy chicken though, as it is made of the chicken thigh. Although the grilled chicken is made of the chicken breast, it is soft and not tough.
However, I do not usually go there for the burgers, but for their baked potatoes and salads instead. I like the cheese and cheese potato most, as it is usually served with a big potato with a lot of cheese. But, the size of the serving is not consistent and there are times when I am left unsatisfied by the small potato and little cheese. The caesar salad, with either the spicy or grilled chicken, tastes great. Although the caesar salad usually comes with grilled chicken it is possible to change it to the spicy chicken.
There is rarely a queue at Wendy’s, except during mealtimes. The service crew is a little slow in taking the orders and serving the food, but I guess it is the corporate culture that is laid-back, and they are cheerful and patient when communicating with customers.
Onto the food, I love the panini! The panini is warm and chewy and you can see the toasted lines on the bread itself. I like it! Beats having a plain bread without stripes. It's always good to know that the stripes are a result of pressure toasting which ensures that the whole sandwich does not fall apart easily. The combination of the sausage, egg and cheese with the panini bread is divine. I prefer it so much more than McMuffins. The good hold of the sandwich makes it easy to eat as well! The sausage used is like the one at MacDonalds. One piece of round meat and not the long kind of sausages. Hash brown is hot and crispy on the outside while fluffy in the inside! Their sachets of sugar and creamer are also pink! Added bonus :-) Highly recommend place for fast-food breakfast!
It wasn't really an advantage for me when it comes to choices of food as I am not in favor of beef, and most of their burgers consist of beef!
However, their awesome customer service and attitude left a positive impression on me. As it was my first time to Wendy's, I didn't know that the burger I ordered had beef in it. I had unwrapped it, but was not able to consume when I felt it looked suspiciously like beef.
Surprisingly, the counter staff was very understanding when I went up to them. They were willing to give me a set of 6 pcs nuggets for FREE and allowed me to keep the beef burger. I was surprised as I was expecting it to be an exchange.
(I love the nuggets by the way. They're crispy and a must-try for any nugget lover!)
When we were about to leave, one of their staff even opened the glass door for us. We felt very appreciated as a customer, and I am indeed grateful to them for providing us such a positive first-time experience!
I visited the outlet the moment it opened, hoping to get a slice of the wonderful and juicy beef burgers that i had tasted before. Boy was i disappointed.
I eat the most basic burger, their cheeseburger, half expecting a piece of beef patty that would be juicy and not dry. But i guess the higher the expectations, the bigger the disappointment. The beef patty was not as juicy as i thought, and it was somewhat just like BK. It was not as good as i remembered. But to be fair, the chilli and fries are probably a more lethal combination of chilli beef fries that is offered by other chains. The chilli is filled with chunks of meat and spicy enough to pack a punch. Let's keep that up.
In terms of pricing, it is definitely cheaper than Carls' Jr. But otherwise, i think they should priced themselves closer to that of McD and BK. And i think they have some tie up with Kopitiam or Banquet and you can use the discount card to enjoy a 10% discount.
However, as the outlet at JP is rather small, it is difficult to get a seat especially during the peak hours. Really wondering why they did not get a bigger space since they are building out of nowhere anyway.
In reference with the first branch, at Bras Basah, I think the location is very convenient. Just outside one of the entrances of the circle line, Wendy’s is placed next to a pub. The place is fully air-conditioned and has some nice cushioned seats at the side as well. The queue is very aligned and there are many counters. So even if there is a crowd, the food still comes to you rather promptly.
The members of staff are rather friendly and understanding. Once, I got my entire order wrong and wanted to change everything. The staff not only changed my order, but smiled while doing it. That is what I call service. Their combos are also very filling. I usually share a double patty medium combo with my boy and we are usually very full at the end. The potato is also very savoury.
To me, the must tries at Wendy’s would be the chilli cheese potato and their milkshakes.
I find the environment is suitable for friends who wish to chat at a quiet and cooling place as it is not crowded. The Oreo crushed milkshake is the best among all Wendy's milkshake. At least the taste is acceptable for majority. The nuggets are dry and might have left outside for quite some time as it is cold. Seriously I got to say, there is nothing special provided and I think Wendy's is just copying Carl's Junior but not as good. If they are able to come out with something new and refreshing, then I will find it is worthy to return. J
