Orchard Road Has A Pop-Up Art Market With Korean Food Stands, Retail Booths & A Dog Playground

Wunderground Art Market at Orchard Road

Ask any Singaporean, our iconic shopping street needs no introduction. And if you do need one, check out our articles on things to do in Orchard and the evolution of our beloved shopping district. But if you thought you knew everything that’s going on at Orchard Road, think again.

From now till 1st October, there’s a new – albeit temporary – addition to this street. Wunderground Art Market is a pop-up exhibition located at 37 Emerald Hill. If the address sounds familiar, that’s because it’s the former site of Singapore Chinese Girls’ School and has hosted events such as PLAYfiesta Singapore and the Singapore International Photography Festival

You won’t run out of things to do at Wunderground Art Market. The building has been brought to life with workshops, fun activities, and retail booths where you can support independent makers.

Get this self-care bundle by Clean Folks Club and MellowOver.

Get your dose of retail therapy here, with over 20 indoor retail booths selling trinkets such as candles from MellowOver and macaron-shaped soaps ($14.50 for 2) from Clean Folks Club. At the Herbal Gemstone Gardens, you can sign up for a workshop to customise your very own mist or herbal-scented pouch.

If you’re more of a woo-woo sis or bro, you’d love the free tarot reading and jagua tattoos for $20.

The festival is pet-friendly and there’s even a doggy playground where your fur babies can run around. Alternatively, chill out while listening to some live music or check out the retail booths located within the building.

Open-air food & drink stalls

You don’t have to worry about going hungry here. There’s a variety of food and drink stalls within the festival compound, giving us Chatuchak vibes. Chomp on the Korean viral Cheese Coin in different flavours like nutella ($6) and mozzarella cheese and durian ($10), or a “no time anyhow” mala bucket ($13.80) from Mala Bucket Shop

The latter is chock full of ingredients such as fried crispy chicken, pork belly shabu shabu, and quail egg. This curated combo is great for mala lovers who always get stressed out when choosing the ingredients they want.

Other names you may recognise include Talay Thai Street Food, Wildseed Cafe, Loco Loco, and UNA Spanish.

Head to Wunderground Art Market before it ends on 1st Oct 2023

If you have friends who keep saying “there’s nothing to do in Singapore,” you know where to take them.

Whether you need a new paktor spot, checking out a new dinner place, or just want to take in the vibes, it’s worth heading to Wunderground Art Market. It’s located right next to Design Orchard, a 9-minute walk from Somerset MRT station.
