When you think of Bintan, you’d picture kicking back at a beach resort with a tipple in hand, as the ebbing waves beckon you to step out of the shade to take a dip. But, if you’re looking for a change in scenery on your next vacation to the Indonesian island, then consider a stay at The ANMON Resort Bintan.
Much like other resorts in Bintan, this tropical retreat is a mere boat ride away from the shores of Singapore; the difference is that it trades sunny sea-facing views for a unique desert theme. Here’s all you need to know about this alternative glamping accommodation that’s packed with activities like ATV rides and night tours of the surrounding mangroves.
The current exchange rate is IDR10,000 = ~S$0.79 as of 3rd April 2025.
To reach The ANMON Resort Bintan, you’d first need to get yourself to Bintan. Thankfully, the Bintan Resort Ferries ferry service makes light work of travelling to the island. They provide round trip ferry rides from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal to Bintan that start from $88, and the voyage will take only 70 minutes.
Once you’ve arrived at Bandar Bentan Telani Terminal in Bintan, the resort provides complimentary transfer services to their premises. Simply shoot them an email at iwanttostay@theanmon.com with the timing of your ferry’s arrival and they’ll pick you up at the ferry terminal. The ride to the resort itself will then take approximately just 5 minutes.

You definitely won’t feel the effects of jet lag when you set foot on Bintan, but in case you’d like to set your luggage down first, check into their glamping teepees. Prices start at IDR 2,380,000/night for a stay in their Deluxe Glamp Tent, which comfortably accommodates 2.

Should you be travelling with the entire family, then go for their Deluxe Lagoon View Glamp Tent, rates for which start at IDR 2,720,000/night and sleeps up to 4. If you’d like a little more privacy, the Deluxe Private Glamp Tent (IDR 3,264,000/night) will be your accommodation of choice, as it spans 63sqm and has an exclusive outdoor area that contains a hammock and bonfire.
Regardless of which tent you choose, each one is fully air-conditioned so you don’t have to worry about the heat causing you to lose sleep. There’s also high-speed Wi-Fi available in your tents, for when you’ve got heaps of photos to upload to the ‘Gram.
Speaking of which, there’s no shortage of pretty photo spots at The ANMON Resort Bintan. The pathway leading to all the teepees that features desert-like shrubbery is one of them, and for shots of the azure blue sky, look no further than the flight of stairs located near the expansive Crystal Lagoon.

Food-wise, there’s plenty of delectable options right at your fingertips; first up, you’ve got the resort’s in-house The Compass Rose restaurant. They specialise in whipping up authentic, local fare with the freshest catch of the day such as Smoked Stingray Curry (IDR225,000), Sotong Bakar (IDR180,000), as well as meaty delicacies like Beef Rendang (IDR195,000).
When you’re in the mood for some liquid courage, swing by Tipi Bar as they’ve got an impressive menu of cocktails (IDR190,000). Must-trys include the Pandan Martini, Hibiscus Mojito, and Borneo Fizz. For a different dining experience, you can also host your own tent-side BBQ, with vegetable and meat platters that start from IDR300,000.
You won’t want to stay cooped up in your boho-styled rooms for too long, as there are plenty of things to do to immerse yourself in around The ANMON Resort Bintan. For those who can’t bear to part with water-based activities, make a beeline for the nearby Chill Cove.
The water in the lagoon has been specially treated so that it’s especially clear.

It’s a recreational leisure hub located in Treasure Bay Bintan, another resort on the island, but it’s open to the public too. Tickets to Chill Cove cost IDR120,000, and grants you access to the Crystal Lagoon, which is an 800m long man-made sea water body to splash about in. As for getting there, it’s only a 3 min-buggy ride from The ANMON Resort Bintan
There are a slew of water sports you can also opt for during your visit to Chill Cove. For instance, grab a buddy and paddle away on a kayak (IDR420,000/hour), and whiz across the water’s surface by going wakeboarding or cable skiing (IDR400,000/15 minutes). Otherwise, take it slow by floating lazily on a giant float (IDR140,000/hour).

But if you’re not one to get wet, perhaps you might prefer the ATV off road trails (IDR900,000/25 minutes) instead. You’ll brave a private jungle trail while piloting your own ATVs; don’t worry, you don’t need a valid driver’s license for this one.
You’ll also be able to get close to nature with Treasure Bay Bintan’s mangrove pontoon day tour (IDR230,000), where they’ll show you around the nearby mangroves and learn about their ecological importance and the conservation efforts that go into protecting them.
Since you’re already in a desert-themed resort, you might as well take the time to travel to an actual desert right? Well, you sorta can when you’re staying at The ANMON Resort Bintan, because located about a 35-minute drive from the resort lies Gurun Pasir Busung.
It’s a former mining site for bauxite that’s transformed into spectacular sand dunes over time which are reminiscent of those of a Middle Eastern desert. Here, the arid sands stretch out as far as the eye can see; sit down at this swing and strike a pose with the dunes in the background, or feel free to get up close and scale them for some IG-worthy shots.

Before you leave, don’t forget to pay a visit to the site’s crystal clear lake. Like a mystical oasis amidst a desert, there’s also a small boardwalk that extends into the water to make your photos here extra enchanting.
You can kick back and relax at The ANMON Resort Bintan in under 2 hours if you’re coming over from the Little Red Dot, which is perfect for short getaways during the long weekends. With picturesque views and tons of activities to fill out your days with, it’s just the spot for friends, couples, and families alike to spend some quality time with one another.
