You’ve probably been to JB no less than 1,000 times in the quest to find good food, cheap massages, and luxury bargains.
From now till 16th July, however, you’ll have another reason to travel across the causeway. 3 words: Thai Street Pop-Up. Made up of 20 stalls, the food fest is a potpourri of delicious smells, flavours, colours, and sounds.
Packed into the cosy carpark at AEON Mall Tebrau City, the food fest contains 20 vendors folding and frying over 200 Thai street snacks.
You can find everything here: som tam salad, boat noodles, tom yum soups, seafood fried rice, a variety of curries, grilled meat skewers, desserts, and even roasted insects. The food fest is all about deep-fried finger food, plastic bowls, and wobbly stools to test your posture while you dig into Thai staples.
The tasty street fares at Thai Street Pop-Up will make you feel as if you’re in Bangkok. Brb, going to drool onto my keyboard now.
Golden Mile and your fave Thai food stalls might have been closed, but there’s still legit Thai food that’s only a drive across the causeway.
So, round up your friends and fam, come hungry, and bring cash. Thai Street Pop-Up opens from 12pm-11pm. But hurry, you’ll only have until 16th July to feast yourself into a Thai food coma on the cheap.
