For fitspos who want something more adventurous, Talula Hill Farm Resort is the perfect starting point for a hike up Gunung Lambak, a popular mountain among the locals. The distance to reach the mountain’s peak is only about 2km but don’t underestimate the steep ascent, it can be challenging.

One can reach the peak in about 1.5 hours, but it can be a tough hike for newbies. You don’t have to worry about getting lost while hiking up or down. You can climb in peace knowing there’s a rope to grasp onto and built-in steps the whole time leading you up.

Even if the sun goes down, that doesn’t mean your lepak time has to end. Share some laughs and good times while roasting marshmallows over the campfire at the resort grounds on Saturday nights.

There are even BBQ pits that you can book. Just make sure you check the weather when you’re planning for the trip as the BBQ site is located in an open space.

If you’re an early riser, you can witness the sun peeking out from behind the mountains right from the resort. Head to the Sunrise Deck before dawn to witness the view.

Feeding animals & gardening

A farm isn’t a farm without animals, right? Here’s the chance to get your little ones closer to nature as they feed grass to goats right out of their hands. The best news is that hotel guests can join the resort’s free animal feeding session, which takes place every day from 5.30pm-6.30 pm.

Head down to the resort’s barnyard and meet ducks, little chicks, chickens, geese, and bunnies in the farm shed.

If you have green thumbs, pitch in and help the eco-resort employees at the Vegetable or Fruit Garden to fertilise and harvest vegetables and fruits. The field is located close to the Farm Cafe. Who knows, you might end up eating the fruits of your labour.

The kids can also join in. Get them involved in the resort’s green activities for kids, where they can express their creativity through pot painting and then using the pots to plant aloe vera.

Dabao breakfast in a picnic basket

Here’s a secret: most guests aren’t aware they could request breakfast to be served in a picnic basket so they can eat it wherever they like on the resort grounds. Eat breakfast peacefully without bumping into a crowd too early in the morning.

But you might want to keep in mind to be on the lookout for the ducks or geese in the area. They might “steal” your meal and flee.
