Kicking off an early start to the summer blockbuster season with an astronomic bang is none other than The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, first announced on Mario Day 2024, and 2 years in the making.
The film premieres tomorrow, 1st April 2026, and if you simply cannot wait, you can enter the IRL Super Mario Galaxy ‘verse at Dhoby Ghaut and Wisma Atria – here’s all you need to know:
Inspired by the Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 games, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is, in series creator Shigeru Miyamoto’s words, “the main event of the Super Mario Bros. 40th anniversary celebrations”.
This sequel to the 2023 The Super Mario Bros. Movie sees Mario and Luigi, of course, joining forces with Princess Peach, Yoshi and Toad. The gang sets off on an intergalactic quest to face off against Bowser Junior, who’s out to free his father from being shrunken and imprisoned.
With such a star-studded cast, it’s no surprise that the voices behind the characters belong to equally famous peeps the likes of Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, and Jack Black as Bowser.
If you haven’t already spotted the life-sized yellow Question Block on your latest drive or jalan down Orchard Road, have a second look.
This Question Block sits on top of the stairs outside Wisma Atria, and you’ll be relieved to know – there’s no need to complete any challenge to conquer this block.
Granted, there aren’t Star Medals or coins to be won, but you can actually enter this Question Block.
Think: Yayoi’s Infinity Mirrored Rooms, but aglow with transcendent, grinning Lumas.
Behind the Question Block is yet another installation that allows you to step into one of the key scenes from the first trailer that was released last November.
Against a backdrop of shooting Lumas flying toward Princess Peach’s castle, our crew of adventurers is setting sail on small boats with star-shaped sails. And you’re invited to hop aboard, snap a pic, and commemorate this moment.
What else can you do besides let the photo sit in the cloud-verse? Well, if you show it to the staff on-site, you’ll get to redeem an A4-sized poster that comes in 2 designs.
But that’s just the weekday option. Do this over the weekends, and you’ll get an additional Lumas balloon too.
Make some plans to come early and stick around, because they’re giving out 1,000 Lumas balloons each weekend. Before you ask, the Wisma Atria activations are ongoing till 12th April.

Over at Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station, lucky commuters will have seen the real-life galaxy installation, complete with starry projections, as they cross from the NSL platforms to the NEL platforms.
Duck into the transit area to bask in the light of the stars, or catch the trailer of the upcoming movie – just in case you haven’t seen it.

Over on the wall-to-wall screens running next to the pair of travellators, keep an eye out for shooting Lumas that’ll accompany you on your passage through the station.
