“Wake me up when September ends,” is what Green Day would say at this time of the year. But with a slew of good food coming our way, I’d rather be up and food hunting the moment this month starts. Below are 20 new cafes and restaurants to check out this September:
When it comes to Instagrammable desserts, Fluff Stack definitely takes the cake for this month. Their jiggly Japanese-style pancakes are made to order from scratch, ensuring that you get a sweet treat as soft as a cloud.
For chocolate lovers, dive straight into their Hazelnut Chocolate Souffle Pancake ($13.80), which is doused with a generous amount of hazelnut chocolate sauce and topped with Ferrero Rocher bits, fresh raspberries and a dollop of cream cheese. Other flavours include Mango Passion Fruit Souffle Pancakes ($14.80) as well as Oolong Boba Souffle Pancakes ($9.80), the latter perfect for all diehard bubble tea fans out there.

As evident from their Instagram page, a crowd-favourite here is definitely the Brulee French Toast ($18), a sweet, caramelised toast topped with fresh berries and flower petals for that extra flair.
Coffee cocktails – available on weekends only

While they won’t be bringing their entire menu over, some of the exciting dishes you can get your hands on include Mom’s Touch Fried Chicken ($3.60) available in spicy and non-spicy variants, as well as their Incredible Burger, a hefty one which comes with a chicken cutlet topped with an egg, slices of ham and their signature “special sauce”.

Here, you’ll find truffle-based dishes priced from $10, which is relatively affordable given the pricey nature of the key ingredient.
For a satisfying cheese pull, order a Truffle Grilled Cheese Sandwich ($12) that comes with a generous serving of cheese and dusted with freshly grated truffle shavings.

There seems to be a never-ending slew of unagi restaurants that are entering Singapore. But we’re definitely not complaining cause they provide for endless options for us to get our eel meat fix.
A new player in town is Unauna, which serves one of the cheapest hitsumabushi – grilled unagi chopped and laid over a bowl of rice. The eel here is cooked over hot charcoal, resulting in a crisp exterior, tender flesh and a smoky aroma. Mmm.
The best part, their best-selling Hitsumabushi is priced from a pocket-friendly $9.80. If there is no such thing as too much unagi in your dictionary, then upsize it to a double ($19.80) for the best experience.

Head ups sushi lovers ‘cuz Japan’s largest conveyor belt sushi chain, Sushiro, is finally here in Singapore! Not to be confused with the existing Sushiro in Upper Thomson, this one is a separate establishment, with its first foray into Southeast Asia.
There are over 100 varieties of sushi and side dishes that start from $2.20 per plate, so make sure to go in with an empty stomach to feast on as many as possible. Expect a dining experience very much like one their OG stores in Japan, as all their ingredients are air-flown over for the original menu to be replicated as closely as possible.

That’s right, the family-favourite Kenny Rogers is coming back to Singapore with their newest outlet scheduled to be open in JEM on 28th September 2019.
The American diner closed its last outlet in Singapore in April this year. Although it’s only been 5 months, make sure to save the date if you’ve been missing their rotisserie chicken, corn muffins, and who can forget, mac-n-cheese.
Upon reopening, their menu will be halal-certified, unlike previously, with their originally pork-based dishes replaced by substitutes like salmon and sirloin.
