9 Christmas Plans At Sentosa That Beat “Dinner Somewhere In Town”

The Sentosa Christmas Experience

The trickiest thing in this season of giving, is getting your finicky family and friends thoughtful and appropriate Christmas presents. You’re out of gift ideas and just the thought of having to outdo this year’s gift with a better one next Christmas, has got you playing it safe with photo frames and boxes of Ferrero Rochers.

Spare your loved ones generic gifts this Christmas and treat them to these 9 ‘experiential gifts’ at Sentosa – like gourmet buffet dinners, piña coladas by the beach, or watching the fireworks in a cable car cabin – gifts they won’t have to pretend to love. Ps. There are always new things to do at Sentosa, so you’re pretty much settled for all future Christmases.

1. Laze on sunbeds and watch the sunset

Source

Sunbeds on Sentosa don’t come always come cheap. You’d have to chalk up $200 in food and drinks just to get one at premium beach clubs over the weekend! But with sunbeds at Coastes going at just $20, you’ll be glad you chanced upon this gem of a beach bar on Siloso Beach, which also happens to be one of the best places to swim and catch the sunset.

Have yourself a cosy Christmas at Coastes, with comforting slices of Christmas Turkey Pizza ($26 for 10”) topped with chunks of juicy turkey breast with fresh asparagus and cranberry mayo, or get turkey breast, herb-crusted beef ribs, barbecued pork ribs, grilled prawns served with mushroom sauce and a side of yorkshire pudding with their Festive Meat Platter ($48).

Just add on Coastes’ Christmas Cookie Cocktail ($10) or Martini Prosecco ($12), because cocktail glasses are a necessary accessory at every beach bar chill-out.

Kick off the New Year on a high note as Coastes and neighbour Sand Bar, team up for a beach barbecue bash! Party by the beach and tuck into the sumptuous buffet spread of freshly-grilled seafood, succulent meats, hearty mains and sweet treats.

Toast to a new year with $10 house pour, selected bottled beers and live music by band Retro Groove! Get your tickets at $70 for adults and $35 for kids (12 and below).

2. Savour champagne-infused spare ribs

Baked spare ribs with champagne sauce Source

Conventional Cantonese is taking a festive twist at Cassia at Capella Singapore with dishes like baked spare ribs with champagne sauce to parma ham fried rice in their 6-Course Christmas lunch ($88++/pax).

They really get creative with the sauces here at Cassia, where you can taste bird’s nest with sea urchin sauce and sea bass cooked with the same champagne infusion in their Christmas dinner ($148++/pax).

Cassia’s the place to take your grandma who still prefers shao rou to honey baked ham, with their crispy suckling pig skin still made true to tradition. Ah mah will be sucked into the revelry, fully convincing her Christmas is not just an ‘ang moh’ celebration.

3. Stuff yourselves with all-you-can eat French food

Source

Even if you’re staying on homeground this holiday, it doesn’t mean your tastebuds have to stick exclusively to Singaporean makan, because you can taste both local favorites and dishes cooked with French finesse dishes at A Destinational Christmas Buffet Dinner at Le Méridien Singapore, Sentosa.

This buffet is a literal and figurative mouthful, with all-you-can-eat French dishes like Coq Au Vin to Baked Fish Meunière Amandine. That’s French for wine-braised chicken and fish baked with an almond crust, but we’ll stick with the French names, they’re tres sexier if you ask me.

Source

Don’t miss out their Pandan Kaya and Raspberry Coconut Eclairs at the buffet lines or take them home for $10++/4 eclairs. You can also order a Yuzu Gula Melaka Log Cake for your Christmas festive feast: $60++/log cake (1.2kg). Please place your take-away orders at least 3 days in advance.

4. Feast (your eyes) on edible art at Museo

Source: @stormscape

The only kind of food you’d think of eating out of a cup is instant noodles. But with Museo’s Dine-In-A-Cup series, eating out of one could not be classier. Featuring fusion food served artistically in delicate glass spheres, treat yourself to a 4 or 5 course dinner at this “museum” ($98 and up) for a fancy upgrade from your late night convenience store raids.

Expect appetizers like lobster bisque with Hokkaido Scallop and take your meal up a notch with the menu’s mezzanine section – where you can pick dishes like Pan-Seared Foie Gras to Crispy Frog Legs. And because it’s Christmas, it’d only be right if you went for their Gammon Ham and end off with a traditional Date and Bread Butter Pudding!

Source

It’s easy to overdo the booze in the spirit of merrymaking. But with Museo’s cocktails incorporating tea and organic juices, it’s the green light for some ‘healthy’ tippling this season. And don’t worry if cocktails aren’t your cup of tea, splash some paint on canvas and create a festive masterpiece at Museo’s art jamming sessions ($20++), for a therapeutic release for the year-end.

Admission to the Aquarium entitles you to one ball of your choice*, so pick carefully, because the ball type determines the difficulty of your missions. The aim of the game is to identify the Pokemon inside your ball from the 700 possible species with the clues you collect at four interactive stations.

This is the ultimate treat for you and your home-girls – a 2D1N Christmas staycation at Siloso Beach Resort! This eco-resort is just steps away from the Siloso beach front and just a heads-up, you might find trees both outside and inside your room!

Building the resort to fit in with the natural terrain, over 200 trees were left in place and now guests have the privilege of hugging trees in the privacy of their rooms.

You won’t have to run to the hot springs of Japan for a therapeutic soak in the waters this year end, because the pool’s filled with spring water sourced from the underground reserves of Imbiah Hill. It’s filtered so you don’t have to worry about questionable specks in the water. As the longest landscape pool in Singapore, it extends over 95m and even has an 18m waterfall!

You aren’t allowed to cliff-dive, but feel free to sip on cocktails from from poolside bar while dipping in the pool. If you’re lucky enough, you might even spot a peacock or two.
