Butt glued to the chair and shoulders hunched over the laptop – that’s probably how many of us spend our days grinding at work. If you find yourself getting cross-eyed from staring at a screen, consider taking a break and going for a dip in the pool.
Not only can you clock in a tonne of exercise, you can also cool off from Singapore’s relentless heat. And while you’re splashing about, good news – SAFRA Swim for Hope 2022 is back, where you can help raise funds for the less fortunate too. The swim marathon is happening from now till 30th October 2022, and here are all the deets you need to know.

SAFRA Swim for Hope 2022 is making waves with the goal of aiding individuals with physical and intellectual needs, less fortunate families, and servicemen disabled due to service. Incorporating the funds from relevant government grants, registration fees, and public donations, the organisation aims to raise a total of $500,000.
Contents include daily necessities such as rice and oil.

They’ve also introduced the More Than a Box, whereby anyone can show their support for the cause by purchasing it for $50/box. It’ll be available from 12th September to 30th October, and final sales will be added towards the $500,000 goal. Buyers can also opt to donate the box to the elders under the Fei Yue Active Ageing Centre (under President’s Challenge).

Now to the how part of the race. This year’s event allows participants to complete the race fully “virtually”, where those who prefer to swim OTOT can finish their laps at their own selected time and place. After completing the challenge, simply upload your record onto the Swim for Hope 2022 event portal.
There’s also the option to do it half “virtually” and half physically. For this, participants will need to complete their last 1km at selected SAFRA Clubhouses, where SAFRA staff will be present to witness. Slots for each clubhouse are on a first-come-first-serve basis, and here are the available places:
For those planning to head down to SAFRA Tampines on 30th October to join the race, there will also be a finale carnival happening from 10am-4.30pm.
Should this swim marathon sound right up your alley, remember to mark your calendar as registration closes on 30th September 2022.
Kill two birds with one stone at the Swim for Hope 2022, where you can contribute to a good cause while clocking in a workout. Plus, all SAFRA members can snag a $10 e-voucher as a “prize” for your efforts. Available on the SAFRA app (Google Play | App Store), this e-voucher can be redeemed at select SAFRA F&B stalls from 7th October to 31st December 2022.

Here are all the best things to do this weekend in Singapore.
Just an hour away from KL!
Taichung is only an hour by High Speed Rail from Taipei or Taoyuan station.
No more stressing over what to get your loved ones for Christmas.
Gone are the days when family photoshoots used to be boring and extra formal.
Meet new-to-Singapore species as well.
