Fort Canning Park is set to transform into a fantasy realm for 1 weekend only – on 31st January and 1st February 2026 – as Singapore’s first-ever Renaissance fair, AKA Renfaire, makes its debut. Ren Faire Sg: The Origin will bring back the past with historical-themed handicraft booths, stage acts, and of course, an opportunity to dress in your best medieval-inspired fit.

A Renfaire is basically an outdoor festival that celebrates life during the medieval and Renaissance periods. Visitors come dressed in themed costumes, explore markets, watch performances, and take part in games and historical reenactments. The faire mainly combines historical elements with theatrics to entertain crowds the way it was done centuries ago.
The concept first started in the United States in the 20th century, before spreading across the world to countries like Canada, South Africa, and even Taiwan. At these fairs, you’ll typically find craft markets, knight jousts, and food stalls serving dishes inspired by the era – so it’s as close as you can get to stepping back in time.
And in 2026, we’ll get our very own Singapore edition, complete with a storyline: every 5 years, the Grand City of Xenaria holds a Renaissance Fair at The Origin to mark its founding and decide new leadership. Whether you’re a traveller, adventurer, or rogue, all are invited to participate in the festivities.
You’ll get the opportunity to sort yourself into 1 of 5 houses: House of Wit, House of Courage, House of Strength, House of Faith, or House of Truth, and represent it in community competitions.
Members of the LARP Community Singapore will be part of the street cast.

No matter what fantasy class you belong to, there’s something to do across the fairgrounds.
Knights can show off their sword skills at a designated combat area, though do note that no real weapons are allowed.

Artisans can look forward to exchanging handicrafts at a trinket trading corner, while witches will want to keep an eye out for tarot readings and workshops, including one where you’ll get to DIY your own spell jar.
The rest of the adventurers can get ready for a variety of quests to take on, including clue and loot hunts to earn voting slips and merchandise. The slips will be used to elect your favourite contestant as the council member of their respective house.
You’ll also get to interact with the street cast roaming the fairgrounds to learn more about the Grand City, and enjoy stage performances and entertaining acts from buskers.
Of course, there will be a Best Dressed Competition as well, so don’t be shy to dress according to the theme.
For more info and updates, check out the Ren Faire Sg Community Telegram channel.
Besides activities, there’ll also be a marketplace featuring around 100 local vendors selling handcrafted goods, and food and drinks. You’ll find all sorts of curios, like leather cuffs, medieval-inspired clothes, and even colour-changing potions by Drop ‘o Dew Apothecaries.

Studio Goomz will also be bringing its button jewellery to the faire, adding a touch of whimsy to your Renfaire outfit. If you’d like to further immerse yourself in the fantasy world, check out LARP Singapore Community’s booth for tips on live action roleplaying.
And here’s a little bonus: spend at booths to earn stamps, which can be exchanged for exclusive merch at the Market Stamp Rally.
Tickets for Ren Faire Sg: The Origin come in 3 tiers, each offering different levels of access. The early bird tickets have sold out, so you’ll have to wait for the release of normal tickets on 11th November 2025.
| Tier | Price | Perks |

Fastest fingers first – last-minute attendees may be able to purchase Citizen tier tickets at the door for $16, but that’s if there’s any left.
Nope. Regular clothes are fine, but attendees are strongly encouraged to come dressed to the occasion to match the scene of Xenaria. Therefore, all culturally inspired looks are welcome too.
Just remember to wear comfortable shoes since the fairgrounds are grassy, and avoid delicate heels. Keep things family-friendly too – overly revealing or scary outfits aren’t allowed. As for weapons, only cardboard or foam props under 1m in length and 20cm in width will be permitted for safety reasons.
For more inspo and guidelines, check out the dressing guide by Ren Faire Sg.
Singapore’s weather may be unpredictable, but rest assured that the faire will go on rain or shine. Key areas will be sheltered under tents, and ponchos will be available for sale on-site in case of a downpour. Wheelchair accessibility is limited; while Fort Canning Park has paved paths, most of the faire will take place on grassy grounds. There’ll be water coolers near the fairgrounds too, so feel free to bring your own bottles to refill.
Leashed pets are welcome to join in on the fun – and so are kids, as long as they’ve got their own tickets.
