10 Reasons To Be At Quayside Isle This Christmas

Christmas At Quayside Isle

Tucked away in Sentosa Cove overlooking the gorgeous waterfront precinct, people flock there from all around the nation – be it to spend an idyllic island day out with their loved ones or just to zip away for a mini “lunchtime vacation”. It’s not difficult to see why Quayside Isle is a hit among both trendsetting locals and tourists.

With drop-dead-gorgeous scenery along a myriad of dining and retail options, it has a tranquil vibe pleasantly welcomed as an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Good news for people ballin’ on a budget too: in line with the festive season, they’re featuring a series of special promotions that will have you living in the lap of luxury without burning a hole in your pocket.

Here are 10 reasons why Quayside Isle should be your ultimate Christmas destination this year!

Isle Love It And So Will You

1. The whole of Quayside Isle is incredibly Instagram-worthy

Get Insta-happy and prepare to leave with a ton of beautiful photographs set in the picturesque surroundings. Whether they’re scenery shots or OOTDs against a backdrop that trumps all the plain white walls in the world, pictures this pretty are meant to be shared.

There’ll also be roving performers on 19 and 25 December for even more photo opportunities. Think whimsical angels on stilts and a dynamic LED juggler that’ll have you going “oooh” and “ahhh” all through the night.

Upload them onto Instagram with the hashtag #quaysideisle, and they will be featured on the gallery page on Quayside Isle’s official website!

2. It’s so much less ulu than you think

Everyone thinks that Quayside Isle is this atas enclave that’s out of bounds to the average Joe. Did you know there’s actually a service from within Sentosa Beach Station that ferries you practically right to its doorstep? For folks like me with zero navigational skills, that is a true godsend. What’s more, it’s completely FREE.

Watch out for our step-by-step guide at the end of this article on how not to get lost!

3. Spare yourself the torment of the Orchard Road crowds

It’s Christmas, a time for joy and good tidings. Nobody should have to squeeze through a sea of rowdy strangers pretty much sweating all over you.

This year, it’s time to look for a new festive stomping ground. With the usual suspects like Orchard Road, the crowd can get rather insane when everyone seems to be flocking to the same spot.

Relax at Quayside Isle and spend quality time with your loved ones in a peaceful setting with a new array of things to see and do.

4. It’s like spending Christmas from all over the world in one place

Hankering for some Italian, French, Spanish, Greek or even Belgian fare? The numerous dining options at Quayside Isle will satisfy every taste and craving there is, even if you just want some cafe grub. Forget having to fight the crowds at overhyped hipster joints.

We had a scrumptious Italian dinner at SolePomodoro Trattoria Pizzeria, and boy did we leave with happy tummies and tantalised taste buds. If you want a taste of authentic wood-fired pizza, I’d highly recommend getting the Crudo E Rucola ($27.90), featuring delectable slivers of quality Parma ham.

There’s something about seeing a pizza that’s made from scratch, freshly fired up and prepared with love that makes it that much more enjoyable.

Authentic cuisine in a beautifully decorated and cosy space served with warm Italian hospitality? We’ll never be able to look at Italian food in Singapore the same way again.

5. Promotions that give you every reason to feast with reckless abandon

From 13 November to 31 December, expect a slew of festive dining promotions and discounts. Sabio By The Sea, Tapas Bar & Grill, for example, has a Christmas Family Brunch that includes a live oyster station and giant turkey paella, at $48 per child and $88 per adult. Kids under 6 eat for free!

There are also numerous catering and takeaway menus, perfect for Christmas and New Year parties. Click here to see their other promotions!

On top of that, how does free admission to Sentosa sound? Make your way there in the evening when the festive lights come on and the landscape looks even more stunning than before.
Pro-tip: Sentosa’s entrance fees on weekdays are waived from 5pm onwards.

6. It’s perfect for last-minute Christmas shopping

If you’ve yet to settle your Christmas shopping, Quayside Isle has got you covered. With 9 specialty stores ranging from gourmet grocers to wine shops, rest assured that everyone will be getting the perfect gift this year. The exotic array of groceries will also do nicely to spice up your Christmas menu for any parties you may be throwing.

There’s no reason not to treat yourself either! Whether it’s a trim of the tresses or a rejuvenating massage, the boutiques and salons will leave you feeling ultra-pampered.

7. It’s suitable for all types of occasions

Whether it’s a birthday lunch or drinks after work to celebrate clinching a promotion, Quayside Isle is perfect for honouring all the victories in life, no matter big or small. The numerous bars and casual eateries make for pleasantly cosy hangout spots that are set to impress.

Quayside Fish Bar & Bistro in particular is a seafood haven dishing up quality BBQ and grill bites, and a place where you can relax and have a pint with your boss. As for family gatherings, you can’t go wrong with the hearty atmosphere and equally brilliant food that Blue Lotus – Chinese Eating House has to offer.

Running out of date ideas? Bring your bae to the bay! Couples will be in the mood for love just from the sight of all those twinkling lights reflected in the pristine waters. And if you’re ready to take things to the next level, this may just be a perfect, quiet spot to pop the question.

8. Have a mini getaway without leaving Singapore

Sometimes you just need to get away from it all and take a mini vacation without having to splurge on an overseas trip. Escape the stress of everyday life and delve into the wonderful atmosphere of Quayside Isle. Hearing the sound of the waves crashing and feeling the wind in your hair will do the trick in reminding you of the simple joys in life.

With no tall buildings, you may forget that you’re even in Singapore! Dine by the yachts and you’ll feel as if you’re transported to some of the beautiful landscapes in Auckland. This is the temporary escape that you deserve.

Look out for the wine sampling event on 5 December, from noon to 6pm at the Fountain Plaza right by the drop-off point. Channel your inner wine connoisseur as you sample up to 10 wine varietals and pair them with your Christmas dinner.

9. It’s the icing on top of the cake that makes for a fabulous staycation…

If you’re planning a staycation, nothing will soothe your frazzled nerves quite like staying within the vicinity of Quayside Isle. A mere stone’s throw away, the prestigious W Singapore Hotel is an obvious choice that will not disappoint.

For those seeking something a little more homely, have a quick search on Airbnb.com and you may just find the perfect beach accomodation for only a fraction of the price. We even found someone renting out their luxury yacht!

Extreme water sports enthusiasts can have a go at hydro-propelled jetpacking at the Water Sports Centre nearby. For those who aren’t such adrenaline junkies, the Water Sports Centre also offers kayaking, banana boating and my personal favourite, sitting in a donut and just floating about.

For those who’ve always wanted to get in touch with your artistic side, get your creative juices flowing and try art jamming at MUSEO. You’ll be given a canvas, unlimited paints and the freedom to make your very own masterpiece from scratch.

Who knows, you might just discover your true calling in life and emerge as a new-age Picasso! Either way, you’ll have a wonderful souvenir to take home or give away to a loved one.

Feel free to check one of the many useful maps available to ensure you’re on the right track. Once you’re at the entrance with the iconic Universal Studios globe (at Resorts World Sentosa), take the escalator down to the carpark and head to the bus stop.

The bus stop is right in front of the casino!
