Every manga and anime fan would’ve heard of One Piece. After all, it’s one of the “big three” of manga-anime franchises alongside fellow cult faves Naruto and Bleach. Well, here’s a blast for the past for those who’ve been following the series since its inception in 1997 – you can now immerse yourself in all things One Piece in Genting Highlands from now till 8th May.
Expected to be the biggest experiential exhibition in Southeast Asia, One Piece “The Great Era of Piracy” exhibition spans across an area of 25,000sqft at Pavilion Hall in SkyAvenue. Here are some highlights of the exhibition.
Fans of the franchise will have a field day exploring 21 thematic zones, each showcasing a scene from Monkey D. Luffy’s adventure from beginning to end.
If you’re that old a long-time OG fan, you might want to stock up on tissues before taking this nostalgic walk down memory lane – seeing how far One Piece has come and walking on this journey with Luffy.

Feel as though you’re a character in the story as you walk through the exhibition that features mirrored installations, pretty lighting displays, and life-size fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP) sculptures – giving you all the right to finally say “he looks like he stepped out of a manga book” cause he sorta did.
Catch 6.5m-tall giant Luffy who flew in all the way from Japan to join the Southeast Asia tour as well. He’ll be making an appearance in malls such as Lalaport Bukit Bintang City Centre (7th-16th April) in Kuala Lumpur and Mitsui Outlet Park (29th April to 7th May) near the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
That’s not all. Make your experience even more fun and interactive by downloading the One Piece Great Era of Piracy app. Staff members will guide you through the AR games as you explore the exhibition and those at the top of the leaderboard will go home with a special prize.
To collect more points, participate in the mini carnival games situated at the end of the exhibition. Do note that you’ll have to purchase separate tickets to enter the carnival. Prices are unlisted at the moment, but you can find out more when you’re there.
Pics or it didn’t happen, right? – after you’ve collected all those points, you can create your personal “Wanted” poster to flex all the points you’ve gotten so far via the app.
Last but not least, you ain’t leaving without some merch. Shop for tote bags, popcorn buckets, limited edition figurines and clothing galore. Spend over RM350 (~S$105) to redeem an exclusive goodie bag which might have a mystery prize waiting for you inside.
With 21 thematic zones, life-size sculptures, games, and prizes to be won, “The Great Era of Piracy” exhibition is definitely a must-visit if you don’t want to fomo. Moreso if you’re looking forward to the new One Piece Netflix series that’ll be released this year. The official release date has not been announced so this exhibit will tide you over.
Do keep in mind that food and beverages are not allowed into the exhibition so you might want to have a quick bite first before going in. Flashlights, tripods and self sticks are not allowed in the exhibition either.
