Weekends are the only brief respite we get and there’s nothing better than a drink to unwind from a busy work week. But a night out drinking doesn’t come cheap. Wine bottles, beer towers, and a heady mix of shots – before you know it, your total bill’s reached a staggering 3 digits.
And that’s why we’ll be heading down to the annual No.5 Emerald Hill beach party, an indoor beach party held in an old-school Peranakan shophouse. They’ve been partying it up for the last 28 years – after all, it’s the only beach party smack-bang in the middle of Orchard Road.
From reasonably priced tequila shots to live music gigs, here’s why 28th September 2019 will be a night to remember:
With propped-up surfboards and coconut trees all around, No.5 Emerald Hill’s party is entirely decked out in beach decor – it’s almost as if you’re living it up at one of Phuket’s full moon parties. They’ll even have their signature beer bong where you can drink your beer or shots straight from the tube!

You can also party to the rhythmic Top 40 beats of DJ Sneo and DJ Pin, or dance along to the tunes of live band Kitsch Yogi Bandits – they’ll be playing a mix of ‘80s hits and modern pop rock.

Orchard Road is up there in the list of drinking hangouts, but we’re often deterred by the steep prices. But compared to other watering holes, No.5 Emerald Hill serves up drinks that are considerably more affordable.
For the beach party, there’ll be a range of drink promotions. Try their Blue Somerita ($20, U.P$28), a frozen lime margarita with a bottle of Somersby Apple Cider toppled halfway in. You can also leisurely while the night away by sipping on ice-cold Carlsberg Smooth or Somersby Apple Cider – it’ll only set you back $22 for 3 bottles (U.P.$42).
Those looking to party it up can also order Milagro Tequila shots at just $10 each or a bottle for $150.
They’ve got an extensive food menu too, with bar snacks like Mini Beef Burgers ($22) and Chicken Wings marinated with shrimp sauce (from $12). You can also order up larger mains to share – they do thin crust pizzas like Four-Cheese ($19) and Margherita ($17).
All you need for a good night out? Affordable drinks, live music, and chill beach vibes – you can find all that at No.5 Emerald Hill’s beach party on 28th September 2019.
With the entire place decked up in beach decor and real sand, make sure to dress up in your board shorts and bikini tops for a proper beach party. No sun included! You can also score $10 tequila shots and dance away to live music performances!
