The Korean Fried Chicken trend hit Singapore hard in a while ago now, the fad seems to be a bit of a stayer by now. You can get your full fill at Chicken Up for the pocket-friendly price of just $19.90 ($13.90 for students) every weekday from 11am-5pm.
Have every fried chicken whim and fancy satisfied with their expansive menu, which also allow you to choose the spice level of your dish. If you’re a spice geek, the Yangnyum is a good blend of sweet and spicy while their Soya Chicken Wings is for those with a mean savoury tooth.

Choose from their 4 star sauces: Hickory BBQ, Garlic BBQ, Smoked Peppercorn and Spicy Asian.
Don’t fret, free flow sides such as their iconic corn bread and red skin mashed potato are available alongside your fall-off-the-bone ribs. Remember to go on an empty stomach because their meat cuts are very generous and you might just OD on ribs for the rest of your life.

If you love fragrant, fluffy coconut rice, head down to Nasi Lemak Kukus where rice is free flow! It’s common knowledge that the quality of rice and sambal chilli are major keys to a good NL. Here, both are in unlimited supply alongside a la carte side dishes such as Mutton Rendang ($3.50) and Fried Chicken Wing Set ($4) which are chargeable separately.
The fun part of the whole experience is probably scooping your own rice straight from the rice cookers. But the best part is possibly going back for second or third helpings… When you’re done, pencil your name on their walls to show that you have conquered your Nasi Lemak demons.

For those of you as clueless as me about the existence of lok lok before this article, let me enlighten you. Lok lok is essentially the Malaysian version of steamboat, but on a stick. At Malaysia Local Delights, their buffet menu offers up to 70 different dishes and 22 sauces!
For just $24.90 per pax on weekday dinners, choose from an array of soup bases and as many dish sticks of your likings. If you’re looking for something unique, add an extra $6 for their signature peanut-y satay sauce.
The price also gets you an unlimited supply of ice cream and drinks. Seriously, what’s not to love about that? We went ahead and made our own coke float, mainly because we were feeling creative and wanted to get our money’s worth.
