November had been wonderful and fulfilling and the month ended on a high note with my fellow TSL writer, Nicole at the Mrs Singapore 2013 Dinner Gala! It was a formal dinner so we were both dressed to the nines!
The finals were held at the Singapore Orchid Club, and the beauty queens were all decked out in dazzling evening and wedding gowns. There were 30 contestants vying for the titles and the 3 categories include Mrs Southeast Asia 2013, Mrs Elite Singapore 2013, Mrs Singapore 2013.
Guests were treated to a sumptuous oriental banquet while enjoying live performances by contestants who competed in 3 segments, namely Wedding, Evening and National costumes.
As the svelte figures sashayed onto the stage in their stunning ball gowns, I was being educated on each beauty queen by Tarry from Mustard Seed Group. I learnt that most of them were already mothers and also have full-fledged careers. These women are smart, independent and have definitely inspired me to work harder for myself.
Note that this is Mrs Singapore, not Miss Singapore and this pageant was not just about beauty. It was also geared to recognising mothers who have been exceptional in their fields.
The evening ended with the ceremonious crowning of the new pageant queens and we would like to congratulate the winners of these categories:
We are extremely happy for Angie as she’s not only a mom and wife, she manages a successful financial and development company with her husband at Midas Development Corporation. TSL would like to congratulate the mother of 4 on her new title and we wish her all the best in future endeavors.
Lastly, I would like to thank Mustard Seed Group for extending the invites to the both of us. They are a venture capital and private equity company and I personally learnt a few things from their dedicated and enthusiastic staff over dinner.
I had a great time at the gala and look forward to attending again next year!
Disclosure: Media Invitation. We attended this event as guests of Mrs Angie Fong
