With the Hungry Ghost Festival all wrapped up, it’s time for a different kind of glow-up. Mid-Autumn festivities are picking up, and this is when beautiful lanterns and dazzling displays light up the night. So if you’re looking for a spot to celebrate the occasion, the Mid-Autumn Festival 2025 at Gardens by the Bay is back in full swing, running until 12th October 2025.
This year, the SG60 celebrations carry straight into the Mid-Autumn festivities, with 5 out of 9 lantern sets featuring Singaporean iconography like the Merlion, HDB flats, and mama shops. It is also reflected in the festival’s theme, Together, where it’s all about celebrating different generations coming together and what makes us proudly Singaporean.

There are also special lantern displays designed to honour 35 years of diplomatic relations with China and 50 years with Korea.
The Dream of Butterflies display is inspired by the Chinese folk tale of the same name, while the Guardians of Light: Merlion & Haetae display features the Merlion and the mythical Haetae, which symbolise justice and prosperity. You’ll also spot 2 children adorned in traditional hanbok surrounded by hanji, AKA traditional Korean lanterns.
Here’s a quick overview of the different lantern sets and displays, and where you can find them:

In total, there are 12 different lantern sets and displays spread across Gardens by the Bay. Keep your eyes peeled for Ang Ku Kueh Girl and Friends – they pop up in some of the sets, adding a dash of fun to your stroll.
One spot they appear is the Celebrating as One lantern set, floating gracefully on Dragonfly Lake. It portrays everyday life in the modern kampungs of Singapore – our beloved HDB flats. You’ll see the gang having a great time at the neighbourhood playground in a nostalgic nod to the community spirit we all love.

Another lantern set takes you down memory lane – Our Kampong Spirit can be found at the Golden Garden, and celebrates the era when values like gotong royong – helping one another as a community – were established and later passed down through generations.
When hunger strikes after exploring the lantern displays, pop by the Marketplace to dig into sweet and savoury traditional treats, like tanghulu and kacang puteh, along with a variety of other local street snacks.
Those visiting with family can also check out the different carnival games and rides available. Don’t worry – all the rides are family-friendly, so even the younger kids can join in on the fun.
Don’t miss the live performances by local and international groups – check them out at the Supertree Grove at various timings.
An act that you must catch is yIN Harmony – a homegrown band that fuses different ethnic music styles together, creating performances that reflect Singapore’s multiracial facet. The band will be performing on 3rd October 2025 at 7pm and 8pm.
Korean duo, CelloGayaguem, made up of cellist Sol Daniel Kim and Dayoung Yoon, who plays the traditional Korean Gayaguem, will also be performing on 27th September 2025 at 7pm and 8pm. Their expertise in traditional instruments has earned them the Soorim Culture Prize – an award in South Korea that recognises artistic and cultural excellence.
