i12 Katong Has Family-Friendly Activities Like A New Climbing Gym & Indoor Playground For Kids

Family-friendly activities at i12 Katong

School holidays are approaching fast, which probably means you’ve been racking your brain for activities for the kids to keep them busy. You could send them to another supplementary class or workshop, but let’s face it, we know you’ll be missing them just waiting for the wee ones to be done.

Instead, schedule bonding time together as a family by heading to the recently revamped i12 Katong. Featuring a new indoor playground and a rock climbing wall for little ones, here are family-friendly activities for you, your boo, plus 2:

Pick up rock climbing skills as a family

Kid-friendly rock climbing wall for ages 5 and up.

We don’t blame you if you affectionately call your darling children “lil monkeys”. After all, it does seem like they’re constantly finding new ways to bounce off the walls – almost literally. Well, they’ll at least be able to put those skills to use at Climb Central.

The rock climbing arena has recently opened up courses designed for kids as young as 5 years old for their first go at climbing. As they get more familiar with the basics, they can progress to more advanced rope courses under the supervision of trainers.

Make this a family activity just by joining your younglings on the climbs as well. No experience is required to get started. Just attend a quick 15-minute briefing and you’ll soon be off vertically racing your kids to reach the top of the walls.

Unit: #04-01/02
Opening hours: Mon-Fri 11am-11pm | Sat-Sun & PH 9am-9pm

Bond with your little ones at Wan To Play Forest

It’s not going to take much convincing for your munchkins to say “yes” to visiting Wan To Play Forest even when the weather outside is perfect for a day out. It’s the newest indoor playground on the block that’s chock full of activities for little ones.

We’re sure kiddos will make a beeline for the climbing walls and slides that land into a ball pit. If not, the foam building blocks will prove to be fun to stack and knock down as well.

Wan To Play Forest has quieter activities too, for the less rambunctious. Get junior to work on his or her dexterity with DIY projects like sand painting at the activity corner. There are even pretend archaeological dig kits you can get for your dino-obsessed offspring.

Unit: #04-03/04
Opening hours: Mon-Fri 9am-9pm | Sat-Sun & PH 9.30am-10pm

Catch a movie in style with Golden Village’s Gold Class seats

Gold Class Lounge.

After the kids have had their fun, the adults can reignite their romantic spark with Gold Class seats at Golden Village. Of course, the children are more than welcome to join in on this special experience too.

Gold Class doesn’t just involve jumbo-sized seats and a blanket to keep you cosy while you’re catching the latest blockbuster or kid-friendly animation film. Before your film, have the whole fam enjoy a hot meal like fish & chips ($14.50) and butter-roasted quarter chicken ($18.50) at the Gold Class Lounge right outside the theatre.

Don’t fret if you aren’t able to grab a bite before the show starts. Gold Class seats also come with seatside waiter service during the movie. You’ll be able to keep your eyes glued to the screen while snacks like popcorn ($6.80) and crispy wings ($14.50) are delivered straight to you, so you won’t miss a single nanosecond of the action.

Unit: #05-01
Opening hours: 30 minutes before first show to 20 minutes after last show

Apart from these surefire ways to keep kids entertained, there’s still more to look forward to as a family at i12 Katong. Add to your to-do list of family-friendly activities Claw Planet, which is opening soon at the mall. It’s an arcade full of UFO catchers with a bounty of plushies and anime toys that will need just the right combo of luck and skill to win.

While it’s mostly fun and games, i12 Katong also has a myriad of dining options to aid in fuelling up after a whole day of play.
