On this tiny island we call home, how often do you find yourself celebrating the endless number of activities you and your significant other can partake in? If the answer is never, you’re in luck – we’ve put together a list of awesome dates that won’t bore you to the point of breaking up.
This means no standard dinners, no overpriced cafe hopping, no boring days spent in the mall, and last but not least, no movies.
Thank goodness.

For the hyperactive couple – Pedal Biking is one couple activity you have to try. Cycling on land seems amateur when you can cycle on WATER. A pedal bike looks like an ordinary bicycle, save for its rudder of a steering wheel, and buoyant flat board wheels. It also works the same way, so all you have to do is pedal, pedal, pedal.
Explore the basin of the Kallang river and race through the lanes on a single bike. You can also choose the option of a tandem bike for a more cosy experience with your significant other. How great would that be for some heart-to-heart bonding time? Remember, team work makes the dream work.
Tip: Escape the intense afternoon heat by heading down in sometime later in the afternoon. You’ll also be rewarded with a great view of the sunset in the distance. Score!

If the thought of cycling for hours under the sweltering heat isn’t your idea of a good time, we’ve got a track that will completely change the way you feel about about cycling in Singapore. If you’ve spent most of your life cycling around East Coast Park, it’s time to break away from the boring old route and try something new.
If you venture far enough toward the Fort Road side of the beach, you’ll reach an overhead bridge in place of what used to be a dead-end. You’ll be pleasantly surprised to find, that this bridge links the beach to Gardens by the Bay – and it’ll get you there in under an hour too.
Introduced early last year, the cycling track is still relatively unknown and sheltered from the crowds, making it perfect for those moving conversations, or some overly cheesy hand holding – if you’re skilled enough that is.
Or if you’re more of the competitive sort, take your cycling skills to the next level by racing each other to the pier for a mesmerising view of the our nation’s marina and the ever-breathtaking Gardens by the Bay.
Quality time with bae? Check. Work out? Check. Scenic beauty? Check.
This less-than-active couple marks this activity with their stamp of approval. Undeniably do-able.

We all know at least one lazy couple out there. If you’re guilty as charged, this activity was practically made for you. There’s only one thing you have to do on a Segway – not fall! Either that, or make sure your partner’s close enough to catch you if you do.
A relaxing roll by the beach whilst taking in the sights and sounds of Sentosa – now that’s the kind of date we like.
It might seem like a mild activity, but the curves and twists of the route towards the beach will leave you with a rush of adrenaline. We recommend this for adventurers of all ages. In addition to the low speed limits on all the Segway Transporters, trainers will accompany you on the stretch of the trip, so you’ll be in safe hands.

With its expansive green fields and walking trails, West Coast Park is the perfect alternative to the ever-popular Marina Barrage if you’re looking for a change of scenery. What’s also great about this park, is it’s fun and vibrant family-friendly atmosphere.
Occasional friendly soccer matches, joyful children and families on walks are a common sight around the grounds of West Coast Park. So if you like a little more life around you on your dates, you’ll appreciate the flurry of activity this park has to offer. We had no problem finding ourselves a cozy corner with just enough privacy, and a full view of an ongoing outdoor futsal match nearby.
If you’re planning on owning the skies with your jazzy kite-flying skills, our only recommendation is, to avoid the weekends as you won’t want your kite getting tangled with every other couple’s!
Address: West Coast Park
Opening Hours: 00:00 – 00:00
“Take a leap of faith”, they said. Or if you’d rather… “you jump, I jump”. Either way, we’ll take it.
Stepping into the Trampoline Park kinda felt like stepping into a whole new dimension. Trampolines, trampolines, and more trampolines as far as the eye can see. I think I can safely say our level of excitement far outweighed those of the kids around us. Move aside children – the adults are here to play!
Live out your bugs bunny dreams, hopping from trampoline to trampoline – even dive head first into the pit of foam if you like. And if you’re confident and daring enough after half an hour of practice, go ahead and try a back or front flip. Even if you fall, you’ll land on a trampoline or bae – same thing.
The part we loved the most? Jumping without boundaries.

What better way to strengthen your relationship, than an aerial rope course?
With 3 levels of 5 – 15m high to choose from, this high element obstacle course will bring your relationship to new heights – literally. From walking on a tightrope and getting across a balance beam, to swinging like Miley Cyrus in Wrecking Ball over jungle canopy on the ClimbMax. It’s also comforting to know that bae will be cheering you on through all of your screaming.
Don’t forget to capture all these precious moments with the help of a handy detachable camera. Simply clip your camera up to the support rope, and snap away from the remote screen in your hands. #relationshipgoals, we say.

Fret not boyfriends, this isn’t another shopping nightmare in a mall with 5 levels of almost identical shops. You won’t have to camp in a neighbouring cafe waiting for your girlfriend to get her shopping fix.
When the sun goes down, Haji Lane comes to life. If you’ve ever strolled down the quirky shopping stretch in the daytime, you’ll be surprised to find that Haji Lane evolves into a colourful, and dynamic hub of watering holes at night.
In an alley no longer than the Upper Thomson food stretch, you’ll find a good spread of unconventional fashion boutiques, quaint cafes, hangout spots, pubs and even bespoke cocktail bar. There’s always something new to see down this happening stretch.
And if you’ve got a thing for live music, a little birdie told us that street performers can be found busting the latest tunes every weekend from 9pm onwards. A unique experience? Hands down, YES.
If you’re a huge water fanatic like us, you’ll be glad to know you no longer have to take a boat out to nearby islands to snorkel. Admission to the Adventure Cove Waterpark doesn’t only grant you access to the theme park and its rides, but a swim with the fishes in its Rainbow Reef.
A single trip out from our shores might cost you a just over S$100 per pax, but admission to Adventure Cove will only set you back S$39. This place will be your wallet’s saving grace.
Fellow snorkelers could probably hear us humming away under water to the music being blasted throughout the park. They were probably wondering what it was… but don’t tell anyone. It’s our little secret.
This was our first trip to the Adventure Cove Waterpark, but definitely not our last. We were also blown away by these schools of fishes swimming by right before our eyes. Additional brownie points to the waterproof camera we brought with us! We will now have images that will last for life.

If you and bae are big children at heart, this one’s for you. Instead of constantly wondering how different your life would be if you and bae had been childhood lovers, why not recreate it? There is no time like the present.
Remember this spider-web looking thing? We sure do! Challenge your partner to see who can get to the top first, and you’ll be granted a panoramic view of West Coast Park in its full glory. No need for a third wheel to come along on your dates to document all these precious moments, the Casio Exilim FR100 will be the only light bulb you’ll ever need.
There are so many limitations when it comes to mobile photography. Wide angle shots come with the struggle of finding a stable platform to prop your phone up on, and the challenge of capturing that perfect expression with the self-timer function on your phone/camera. Don’t even get me started on the cookie-cutter selfie-esque shots you can find across almost everyone’s instagram feed.
I think wide angle shots make all the difference, and it’s even better when it’s not just bae alone in the pictures. That’s why I’m a die hard fan of the detachable lens feature on the Casio Exilim FR100. This small hand held camera double up as an outdoor recording gear; allowing you to detach the lens from the body of the camera, and bring it around with you on your various adventures.
The bluetooth, camera, and controller unit also work seamlessly in allowing you to attach this camera to unimaginable surfaces to capture all the action as it happens. Time to bid goodbye to self-timer functions, remote image shooting is the new in thing. Shock, water, and dust resistant; the Casio Exilim FR100 is the perfect companion to take on your crazy adventures. For someone as clumsy as me, dropping my iPhone is a pain I know all too well, so this rugged camera is a godsend. True story.
The High Speed Continuous shooting feature was probably the only reason this jump shot was possible. The camera snaps pictures at 30 frames per second, making it extremely easy to capture all our mid-air trampoline shots. Hands-free shooting? We welcome it with open arms.
Whether you’re taking pictures under extremely bright sunlight, indoors, or even underwater – no matter the setting, the Casio Exilim FR100 delivers a clear and crisp shot. We’re also loving the 12 megapixel count, and the super wide 16mm angle lens on the camera without any distortion.
So, anytime you’re itching for a new adventure, be it a leisurely or adrenaline pumping one, you know what to bring along with you. This camera, and your bae, of course.
