Being away from Singapore for such a long period of time is really tough and I have already mentally created a list of things that I am looking forward to eating the moment I touch down. One thing that I really leave Singapore for – is none other than the food.
A food-junkie myself, I live to eat. I would endure those long queues, and brave the heat just so I can get my good food when I like it.
One of my favourite food, that is so very difficult to find in western countries around the world is this.
1. PRAWN MEE!
Call me spoilt, I am very picky with my prawn mee, and there are only few stores around Singapore that I would eat from. I absolutely love the prawn mee from the Jalan Sultan Prawn Mee store, and whats more its easily accessible because it is located just opposite Kallang MRT and has many frequent buses along that stretch of road. Hence, without having to worry about the limited parking as public transport is so convenient.

2. Next up is none other than Bak Kut Teh!
Nothing beats pork soup like how the Singaporean style Bak Kut Teh tastes. There are various variety of tastes within the South East Asian versions but I very much prefer the one from home. Possibly because I am a big fan of the peppery taste, especially with dip fried dough sticks! THE BEST.
I would always go down to the Marina Bay branch or the original Rangoon road branch for the authentic bak kut teh. Although there has been a few other franchising outlets around, I have not tried them but rumours are that they taste slightly different. Sharp taste buds of mine would definitely not want to have a go at it to be disappointed!
I love my Bak Kut Teh with tea, as it just brings about the balance in the flavour.

3. Chicken rice with steam boat
Nothing brings family together better than sitting around the table together to have hot pot. Somewhat a tradition to have it during chinese new year, my love for hotpot has overruled that and I now have hotpot frequently to satisfy those hunger cravings. One of the only places in Singapore that has chicken rice with hot pot, this place is not only always crowded but it is situated at such a secluded area it leaves me to wonder how these customers even knew of its existance.

To go along, they also provide a wide variety of dishes to choose from ranging from satay to roast chicken and the very typical “sambal kang kong”.
Rambling goes the tummy as I look at these mouth watering delights just about beyond reach. Cant wait to get back to feast!
