It’s the holiday season – the season to relax on the last leg of the year, the season of giving, and the season to be jolly. It’s the best time of the year to be in Singapore, so don’t book your tickets elsewhere! Festive music is playing everywhere, and even random strangers on the street are jollier than usual, as they finally unwind after a hectic year.
Plus, Christmas is the best time to visit Gardens by the Bay – the Merry Medley floral display is a stunning spectacle, recreating the most beautiful wintery Christmas in tropical Singapore, there are Christmas gifts for everyone, and you can escape from the humidity in the dome’s constant 23-25°C.
Merry Medley is running from now till 5th January 2017, and here are 4 reasons it’s looking to be Singapore’s best Christmas attraction this year:
When we think of Christmas, we think cool weather, coniferous trees, and radiant Christmas lights. Flower Dome is also packed with a myriad of Christmas flowers, so bring your cameras:
You’re going to feel like you’re in Europe – the fresh evergreen scents from the coniferous display, the charming yuletide scenes, and the illuminating lights are bound to get you smiling from ear to ear as you explore the dome.
While the average Singaporean Christmas involves the regular Christmas trees and carols, it’s a little different in Flower Dome. There are ballerinas spinning in giant snow globes, bands of moving toy soldiers, an 8-meter high Christmas tree, and a Baroque Christmas Tower.
Stay till night falls, and you’ll see Flower Dome take on a magical glow as the Luminarie light sculptures shine their radiance within the dome.
Orchard Road’s Annual Christmas Light Up has nothing on this. The lights here are magical, illuminating the dome when the sun goes down.
You’ll get to see this:
Transform into this:
In Cinderella-esque fashion, Gardens by the Bay transforms from floral paradise in the day to Christmas magic in the night. The temperatures in the Dome can go down to 23 degrees when dusk sets, and coupled with stunning Luminarie light sculptures against the night, it’s a treat for your senses.
