All the carols and festive decoration this time of year always seem to inspire a few things: frenzied gift shopping, self-reflection and a desire to end the year on a high. For some, that high comes from truly embracing the very spirit of Christmas – giving.

If you’re hoping to make a positive impact on someone’s life this Christmas season, FairPrice is giving you two opportunities to send the “gift” of food and necessities to those in need with their Shop & Donate initiative and the “Share-a-Gift” programme – an annual tie-up with the Boys’ Brigade Singapore

Unlike other donation drives, you won’t have to purchase or lug any items to specified drop-off locations thanks to FairPrice On, which allows you to do all the donating in just a couple of clicks from the comfort of your home.Giving Week 2018 – Shop & Donate

Each organisation has a grocery wish-list with items they need – think rice, condiments, coffee, oil,  tissue paper, adult diapers and other pantry and home staples. And for a fuss-free giving, all you have to do is:

  1. Head over to FairPrice On’s Shop & Donate page.
  2. Select your beneficiary of choice to view a list of items they often need.
  3. Add the items you wish to donate to your cart.
  4. Proceed to check-out – the delivery address of your selected beneficiary will be auto-generated.
  5. Proceed for payment.

FairPrice On then does all the heavy lifting for you by consolidating and delivering your donations to the charities – no minimum order or delivery charges attached.

SPCA Singapore, Singapore Children’s Society, Red Cross, Boys’ Town and Prison Fellowship Singapore Ltd make up some of the non-profit organisations that stand to benefit from your generosity.

And if this inspires you to want to do good more often, you’ll be glad to know that FairPrice On’s Shop & Donate scheme is a year-long one so you’ll be able to spread out your donations over the course of next year as well.

At the same time, FairPrice On has also teamed up with Boys’ Brigade Singapore for their annual “Share-a-Gift” programme. And just like Giving Week, you’ll be able to donate in the form of 4 grocery hampers ranging from $20, $30, $50 and $80 in value via FairPrice On

A wide range of daily essentials are included in the $20, $30, $50 and $80 grocery bundle respectively

The Boys’ Brigade “Share-a-Gift” donation drive runs until the 31st December 2018, and there’s even a live tracker on the site for you to see how much more food fuel in the form of donations is needed for them to cross the finish line. All payments can only be made via credit card. So activate your parents and rope them in on this one if you don’t own one.

Beyond gift shopping for just family and friends, spread a little warmth this Christmas and give a gift that keeps on giving and with the FairPrice On’s Shop & Donate and Boys’ Brigade Singapore’s “Share-a-Gift” programme. A little goes a long way!
