You’re trapped in a dark room and to get out, you and your friends will have to solve a series of mind-boggling puzzles. In essence, that’s what escape rooms are all about – testing your teamwork and brain power. Add the fact that some of them are scary enough to have even the bravest soul screaming, you’re guaranteed a thrilling experience.
If you haven’t tried playing an escape room game, it’s high time you experienced it for yourself. Here are escape rooms in Singapore that will set your hearts pumping and brains tingling.
Table of Contents
Trapped Escape Room Singapore has a series of escape room games inspired by cult-favourite horror movies A Quiet Place & Saw. Each of the rooms can host anywhere from 3-5 players and have difficulty ratings of up to 93% – eek!

If you’ve always wondered what being in an actual video game would be like, Singapore Virtual Room in Chinatown can give you that experience. Put on a headset and enter the virtual escape rooms for games that will immerse you in unique worlds, such as time travelling through pyramids and pirate ships, or being in a retro arcade machine.
Put your logical reasoning to the test and challenge your wits with a time limit of only 45 minutes.
If you can’t get enough of eerie things, Lost SG has an Aokigahara-themed escape room that will creep out even the bravest of all horror fans.
Riding on the legendary suicide forest’s reputation, Aokigahara is Lost SG’s scariest, hardest, and most popular escape game. This escape game will set your hearts pumping and give you a blood-curdling experience, regardless of whether you’re a seasoned escape room veteran or just someone looking for an exhilarating challenge.
Centrally located near Dhoby Ghaut MRT, Lost SG is convenient for those who want to book it for corporate team-building activities for some team bonding.

Games at Captivate can last for 75 minutes upon request, which is longer than usual so players can have more time to pore over the exclusive puzzles.

For those who’re always chanting “go big or go home”, you’ll have to check Xcape SG out. With over 52 game chambers and seven games for players to choose from, Xcape Singapore is the country’s largest escape room.
If you want to be spooked, pick the bone-chilling Annabelle theme from their Haunted selection or solve the mystery of the Hotel Cecil in the serial killer themed game, Vincenzo.

Suitable for ages 10 and up, The Tiara Society is one of the more kid-friendly escape rooms in Singapore. However, Potterheads of all ages will enjoy this escape game as, you guessed it, everything is centred around a Harry Potter theme.
Fans of the series may recognise the familiar scenes of the wizarding world, as they navigate through dungeons and castles to find clues to escape the secret chamber.
You’ll probably recognise The Escape Artist as one of the OG escape rooms that first introduced the concept to Singapore. They offer both physical and VR escape room experiences to choose from at a fairly reasonable price point.
Their concepts are slightly more on the realistic side but with a darker twist. Strategise your escape from a questionable detention center in Gatecrash. or work your way out of a trap while searching for your missing ninja team in Night Before The Storm. If you enjoy having a bit of horror elements to your escape games, you can take a chance with Trapped Again.
Take things up a notch and give this virtual reality escape room at New World Carnival a go. You and one other friend will be fully immersed in a different reality – think an eerie dollhouse or madman’s prison – once the goggles and headphones are on.
With a cute bear as their mascot and bear-themed game plots, Lockdown SG offers a more light-hearted take on virtual escape games.
Though Lockdown SG’s physical location is temporarily closed, you can still book their VR escape games here at The Escape Aritst for something a little more light-hearted with cute bear-themed visuals.
As they’re usually more well-known as a teambuilding activity, escape rooms in Singapore typically cater to a minimum of 4 people.
However, there are some options in this list that offer games for two people, such as Virtual Room, Lockdown SG, and Captive Escape Room for their Wednesday Addams Gretel & Hansel or Murder on the Singapore Express rooms.
Whether an escape room is scary or not it depends on what the concept of the escape room is. Generally, escape rooms are meant to instill some form of suspense. After all, the premise requires you to race against the clock and escape. However, most of them are all in good fun and aren’t supposed to be too scary.
That said, there are a few escape rooms in Singapore that provide horror-themed rooms. So if you’d like to enjoy the thrill of solving a puzzle without getting jump-scared, we’d recommend you avoid those rooms altogether.
Though claustrophobia varies from person to person, it’s possible that escape rooms might be unsettling for those who have claustrophobic tendencies. Even though many rooms offer ample space for movement, they can feel a bit cramped with larger groups.
Our advice would be to reach out to the escape room company before making a reservation and inquire about their room options. Additionally, check if they have emergency exits that allow for a quick exit in case you feel anxious.
Sometimes, we all need a little break from our mundane routine. Escape rooms can offer a brief respite from reality, allowing you to immerse yourself in a different world for a while. Within this time, you can pretend that the puzzles and challenges are all that you need to deal with in life.
For all those who’re looking for some form of escape, the above list of escape room providers in Singapore will give you exactly that. Pick your poison from this list and get ready to challenge your limits.
P.S. If you are planning an escape room trip with your little ones, do remember to check for any possible age restrictions to minimise any interruptions to your family outing.
