Have you been to City Square Mall lately? Folks who are in the know would be privy to the fact that the unassuming shopping centre – directly connected via Farrer Park MRT Station on the North-East Line – has recently gone through a major revamp.
Expect sleek reno works and over 30 new stores and eateries, including trendy fashion boutiques like HLA, cafes and eateries like Tim Hortons and Baskin-Robbins, and even activity spots like Inmers Play, known for their digital version of the “Floor Is Lava” game. To celebrate these new digs, there’ll be a slew of 50% off deals on your fave brands – including Decathlon, The Body Shop, and Toys“R”Us – from now till 29th June 2025.
Adding to the already extensive directory at this 12-storey mall – there are close to 200 stores in total, BTW – are the following new openings:

Yi Zun Noodle (#03-21) is a halal-certified Chinese restaurant specialising in Northwestern cuisine – think hand-pulled noodles in hearty beef broth. For some sweet treats, head to @ i Mango (#03-56) for desserts, drinks, and light bites like shaved ice, milk tea, and egglet skewers.

Popular chains like Tim Hortons (#01-30) and Baskin-Robbins (#02-55) have also set up shop at City Square Mall. The former is a cult-favourite from Canada, and you can’t go wrong with their maple-based brews, dense doughnuts, and signature “Timbit” doughnut balls. And while Baskin-Robbins hardly needs an introduction, their trendy flavour launches like Dubai Chocolate and even Ghost Pepper Chocolate certainly warrant a try on top of your regular go-tos.

City Square Mall’s retail lineup is already stacked, with favourites like Adidas, Cotton On, and Uniqlo for clothes, along with Sparkle and Toys“R”Us for all your toys and family-friendly needs, just to name a few. Giving you more options for wardrobe refreshes is HLA (#01-32), a one-stop destination where you can shop for office basics as well as stylish weekend picks under the same roof.

A staple in every Singaporean’s childhood, Popular Bookstore has opened up a new concept at City Square Mall, Popular Pals (#02-23), which carries everything that school-going kids and youths might need. Think books, stationery, backpacks, and water bottles that are functional yet cool.

City Square Mall is perhaps most known for their iconic Airzone (#02-K4) playspace, with suspended nets spanning across 4 levels of the mall for some gravity-defying fun. Airzone joins the revamp with an upgrade, and you can now enjoy slides, swings, and bouncing a giant inflatable ball around while being suspended across Level 2 to 6 of the mall.
Continue the fun at Inmers Play (#05-04), a digital games establishment that popularised the “Floor Is Lava” arena concept in Singapore. They also have other task-based challenges and cyber games which will keep you on your feet and moving around. All in all, this is the ideal spot for family-friendly outings or a bonding hangout for friends and colleagues.

To give your brain a workout, head to Puzzletopia (#04-01) and Sciencetopia (#04-03). You’ll find an impressive collection of puzzles and brain teaser toys, ranging from wooden block sets to high-level Rubik’s cubes in special shapes or are just extra, extra large. Bring a fellow puzzle enthusiast along and lose yourselves in their vast library – you’ll be yearning to come back for more.
There are also new community spaces for shoppers of all ages to hang out at, such as the Gastro Square on Level 4 which is home to a whole stretch of eateries, as well as the Discovery Square on Level 5.
Gastro Square is where you can catch ongoing live music performances every Fri, Saturday, and Sunday evening at 6.30pm. Meanwhile, there’s a giant wall at the Discovery Square covered by sequin panels of different colours, where shoppers can unleash their creativity and leave their mark by writing and scribbling through the sequins.

In case you didn’t know, City Square Mall is the first eco-mall in Singapore. That shines through in their revamp, with repurposed materials making up the sleek new fixtures. For instance, recycled chopsticks are used to form wall claddings, while bubble wrap and plastic bottles are given new leases of life in the form of stylish panels at the lift lobbies.

City Square Mall even does flyers the eco-friendly way. The residents living in the vicinity of the mall will receive a colourful flyer announcing the revamp, but instead of just tossing the piece of paper away, they’ll be able to create a lovely origami flower with it.

If you’re part of the lucky ones who get this in the mail, bring your folded flower down to the mall’s B2 Customer Service Counter from now till 29th June 2025 to redeem a swanky City Square Mall eco bag, while stocks last. It even folds up neatly into an adorable lil carrot.
For everyone else, there are plenty of reasons to make a trip down to this convenient mall located right smack in the middle of the North-East Line. Make sure to download the CityNexus Rewards app beforehand so you can take advantage of the many 50% off deals available.
