Cheap halal steaks in Singapore

Finding a good steak isn’t hard in Singapore – you just have to be prepared to fork out more cash. For Muslims, this quest has a bonus requirement of making sure the steak’s halal. And since halal meat is pricier than its non-halal counterparts, Muslims have to shell out a fair bit of money to get an awesome steak.

Luckily, a nice compromise exists at some steakhouses which serve cheap AND halal steaks that are high in quality. We’ve compiled a list of these 7 steakhouses that pull off the delicate act of balancing cost and quality; serving prime, halal meat at sublime prices.

1. Eatzi

Striploin Steak ($21.50)

After a day of adrenaline-packed activities at SAFRA Yishun, kick back and treat yourself to a steak from Eatzi, starting from as low as $14. It’s open to the public, so don’t worry – you don’t have to be a SAFRA member to dine here.

If you have a predilection for all things spicy, choose the fiery sambal sauce to go with your meat – an option not provided by most restaurants.

And if you’re too lazy to make the commute, stay glued to your bed cause Eatzi has a delivery service, courtesy of Deliveroo and Foodpanda.

Address: #01-V2, SAFRA Yishun, 60 Yishun Ave 4, Singapore 769027
Opening Hours: 11AM – 10PM

2. commons

Tucked away at a corner of Our Tampines Hub, commons might seem like a regular Western restaurant serving the usual fare of pasta, pizzas, and steaks. But one bite is all you need to see that there’s nothing typical about the food here.

Black Pepper Beef Tenderloin ($22)

The Black Pepper Beef Tenderloin ($22) is as tender as can be with meat juices oozing out of every morsel. Unlike normal grilled potatoes, which have a tougher texture, the ones that come on this plate are easy to bite and have a nice, salty aftertaste to boot!

Passion Card holders can enjoy 10% off their total bill – so don’t forget to bring yours along.

If your child aspires to be like Gordon Ramsey – sans the cursing, of course – keep a lookout on commons’ Facebook page for information on their monthly culinary classes ($20/child) that’ll have them cooking up quirky concoctions like banana chocolate pizza and mummy sausages.
