Our TikTok FYPs are always flooded with cats, forming a cult with the many memes being generated. Rather than looking at cats through a screen, why not play with a real-life one?
If you’re planning to make a trip down to one of the many cat cafes in JB, consider Cat Times. It’s a new cat cafe in the Austin Crest area that will make you feel like you’re playing with cats in a cherry blossom park. From British Shorthairs to Ragdolls, here’s what you need to know about this sakura-themed cat cafe in JB.
The current exchange rate is RM1 = ~S$0.30 as of 7th August 2024.
The cat cafe is a 30-minute drive away from the Woodlands Checkpoint. Due to its location, it is generally free from crowds and is home to 20 friendly felines. For a price of RM10, you can play with Siamese, Maine Coons, British Shorthairs, and Ragdolls in an obstacle-filled environment. Cat teaser sticks will also be provided for you to interact with them.

The cafe is open from 12pm-11pm daily except for Mondays, so you can drop by anytime to unwind even during late hours. No reservations are needed as the cafe accepts walk-ins.

The cafe comprises 2 floors: the first floor is designed as a playground for the cats, and the second floor is a dining area with a Wabi-sabi vibe, providing comfortable wooden tables and chairs. The highlight of the cafe would be the Sakura Tree, where you will find cats cosied up in tiny wooden “houses” and glass bowls.
Deriving a similar look from the wall of wooden clocks in Pinocchio, there are also wooden fixtures on the walls of the dining area. So, don’t be surprised if you see a cat staring down your food as you eat.
If you’re feeling bored, the cafe provides board games and books that will keep you occupied, regardless of whether you decide to come alone or with a group of friends.

Those felines won’t be the only cute things you’ll see at Cat Times, as you will be exclaiming, “Kawaii!” when your lunch is served. The food here is definitely IG-worthy, as they prepare dishes such as their rice with eel and tamago in adorable cat-shaped bowls.

Their specialty would be the Cheesecake, topped with mousse cream and a slice of lemon. They have a wide variety of cake flavours such as chocolate, matcha, tiramisu, and strawberry.
If you are itching to do something with your hands, you could try doing Latte Art (RM13) on your own coffee.
Those looking for a good stress relief, make your way down to the Cat Times cat cafe next time you’re in JB. Whether you prefer the company of cute, furry felines or simply enjoy the transient ambience of a cafe, you won’t regret spending an afternoon here. If you are on a really tight budget, you can also consider this free cat cafe in JB – TwentyFour Cafe.
