We’re all caught up with the hustle and bustle of everyday life – it’s easy for us to incur some damage and neglect our mental health. Take some time off and visit the Beyond the Label Fest on 28th September 2019 at Timbre+, to get started on a healthy self-care routine for your mental well-being.

The Festival, in celebrating and supporting those on a journey of recovery, offers wellness and mindfulness workshops. There’ll also be interesting highlights such as an escape room, flea market and tasty F&B from a container food park!

Flea market featuring local brands  – crafts, apparel & jewellery

From fashion picks to home decor pieces, the flea market offers a collection of local indie brands. If you’re a fan of aromatic scents and the ambient lighting of candles, head over to stalls Aromamaymay and Hush Candles. You can take your pick from an array of essential oils and scented candles – they’re bound to spice up your relaxation rituals.

Pop by local fashion label Die Hard Lover too if you’re a fan of hipster t-shirts with summery vibes. They offer up Andy Warhol-influenced tee, suitable for casual weekend gear or to pull together a hypebeast look.

To spruce up your outfit with accessories, check out FRUS’s tote bags, which are printed with their very own customised illustrations. Personalise your tote bag with FRUS’s self-designed dinosaur embroidery patches and enamel pins.

Other flea market stalls worth visiting include The Balance Co. for their ergonomic shoes, My WheyStop for an affordable atheleisure wear, and The Edible Co for all-natural handmade food and cold-pressed juices by HICJUICE to help beat the heat!

Workshops – aromatherapy, pottery & yoga

Making your own essential oils

Look forward to a variety of self-care workshops, where you can learn to elevate home aromatherapy sessions with Aromamaymay’s Make Your Own Essential Oil workshop. You can even DIY your own scents with soothing ingredients like aloe vera and witch hazel.

Namaste – take a moment and breathe a little.

There’ll be a mindfulness introductory workshop, where one learns to refocus and a yoga practice workshop, suitable for those who’ve gone through past traumas. Key takeaways? Understanding more about yourself and recognising that you always have the power of choice. You can also seek inner peace through a relaxing 2-hour pottery class

Games and activities – escape room & mental health monopoly

You’re often left bewildered once you step into an escape room  – clues are hidden in the most mysterious of spots. It’s no different with this particular Escape Room, but there’s still a twist. You’ll be experiencing rooms themed after everyday life, simulating the experience of an individual with mental health conditions, getting a glimpse of what it’s like for someone living with depression and anxiety.

The escape room will end with a role-play sesh where you can put your newfound skills to good use. Outside, there’ll also be a mental health monopoly game and lucky draw too – if you take a 1-minute trivia quiz.

Live music & F&B at Timbre+ – famous wanton noodles, juicy wings & Southern Louisiana grill

If you’ve ever played MapleStory, Timbre+ ‘s industrial but high-tech vibes will remind you of Kerning City.

Fill your tummies with a variety of food choices at Singapore’s first container food park, Timbre+. Expect a mix of local and foreign cuisines, as they’re particularly known for Wong Kee’s springy wanton noodles, and Big Bern’s American Grill’s succulent mix grills – a tasty halal option. Ah Tan Wings will also be making their special appearance for the evening with their fragrant crispy har cheong gai (prawn paste chicken)!

The container food park are artistically decorated with graffiti inspired artworks not just on the outside, but the interiors too. Certainly a unique element to help you up your gram game.

All stigmas will be abandoned at Timbre+ – it’s a day when we can show our support for those living with mental health conditions. As part of the Beyond the Label movement, stickers will be handed out too, with the words “I’m here for ___” to stand with those you care for.
