Most people think of Singapore as a Garden City. But not many realise how much our Little Red Dot is a maritime city, as we’ve developed over the years to become a successful port surrounded by deep seas.
On 9th and 10th November 2019, experience Singapore’s evolution from a port to the bustling city as we know it at the Singapore Maritime Gallery. Whether you’re looking for a blast into the past with goodies like retro food cushions, or getting hands-on with a range of free workshops like an exclusive photography class by TheSmartLocal, here are some highlights you won’t want to miss:
Something that all Singaporeans have in common is our shared love for food and a good ol’ #throwback moment. Other than traditional delicacies like Tea Eggs and Nonya Kueh, there’s also traditional ice cream to help beat the heat.

Get your hands on free-flow Iced Gem Biscuits and Kachang Puteh with tons of ingredients like green peas, sugar-coated peanuts and pillow prawn crackers to munch on to your heart’s content. There’ll also be stalls selling refreshing drinks like Bandung and Teh Tarik.
