Whether you’re a tech geek, PC enthusiast, pro gamer or just following the news, you’ve probably seen an influx of IG stories and articles talking about tech giant Aftershock’s new 7,000 sq ft showroom.
If you haven’t had a chance to visit and are suffering a serious case of fomo, read on to get all the tea on this glitzy experiential centre. From designing your own keyboard to getting both PC and room design inspos, here are 4 highlights you can expect at this futuristic space.
P.S: Aftershock is having an opening sale so you’ll be able to save up to $700 on your purchase.
Customised keyboards might not be a new concept. However, to choose every part of a keyboard and put them together with your own two hands, while getting tips from the pros, is something you’ll only see at MASH – a crucial part of Aftershock’s new showroom.
Get ready to DIY your own keyboard using your chosen layout, frame design, switches and keycaps. Whether you’re after a small keyboard with a simple design or a full-sized one dressed in pink Japanese motifs, feel free to take your pick. The whole process takes less than an hour so you can do it yourself at the Assembly Zone, or have the experts put it together.
Building a keyboard is an exciting prospect, but if you don’t know where to start, a good place is its ready-made keyboards on display. Have a look at all the available designs, feel them out and see what you like before committing to a style.
Full disclosure: I’m not a keyboard enthusiast but instantly caught the keyboard bug when they presented us with endless design combinations. Plus, I imagine having a unique keyboard that you build yourself can drastically increase your productivity and computing experience.
If you think you need a fab PC setup to go along with the keyboard you’ve just created, you’re absolutely right. Since you’re already at Aftershock – one of Singapore’s most reputable custom-made PC companies – you can do exactly that and build yourself a dream PC.
Like every tech-related thing, building a PC from scratch can be expensive and complicated. Luckily, at Aftershock, there’s a whole team of engineers to help you craft a PC at an affordable price. All you have to do is drop your design and configuration off at The Forge, and they’ll do the rest.
Don’t be fooled by this humble corner though. The real deal is actually a behemoth of 11,000 sq ft production factory located a floor below the showroom.
If you are an aspiring streamer, check out this chio setup that includes a pink cat ears headset, lighting and web cameras. There’s even an Upgrade Bay onsite should you need to jazz up your PC and laptop parts.
So you’ve heard about the world-renowned $10K bubble tea gaming PC and might have even dreamt about it. But if you’ve yet to see it IRL, well, now’s your chance.
Get up close and personal with a snazzy glow-in-the-dark purple PC that comes with black “pearls” in its coolant. Beware: the entire design resembles your fave taro milk tea and might trigger a bubble tea craving.
If you need to see it to believe it, swing by asap and check it out. Hopefully, you’ll catch a glimpse of this one-of-a-kind personalised BBT PC, along with seven other unique designs at the Limited Edition Zone, before they’re sold or replaced with the next batch of eight drool-worthy units.
As much as we’d love to bring this meticulously designed BBT PC home, it is not for sale. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t put in an order for a lookalike. We hear the folks at Aftershock can customise almost anything based on your preference and budget.
If you’re blessed with extra space in your apartment, having your very own game room that doubles up as an office is a game-changer. To get some room ideas, have a peek at the setups at Aftershock to create the best work and entertainment space in the ‘hood.
Inspired by IKEA, the “rooms” at Aftershock simulate a home environment and help you visualise what your actual setup might look like. Plus, they’re all decked out in premium gaming furniture, like Secretlab chairs and Omnidesks, so you can even purchase the entire set – PC included – if you’d like. All you have to do is scan the QR codes in each room and you’re all set.
Beyond Aftershock’s products, you’ll also be able to purchase other gaming essentials such as headsets and laptops from its partnered brands like Logitech and Razer. There’s a whole section dedicated to gear testing and comparing, so you won’t have to second guess yourself after making a purchase.
Once you’ve secured everything you need, make a pitstop at the retail corner and get your hands on some exclusive Aftershock merchandise – like t-shirts, masks and backpacks.
If you’ve been beating yourself up for being unproductive in the new year, a solution is to roll up your sleeves and build yourself a thing or two – like a PC, keyboard and everything in between at Aftershock’s new showroom.
Contrary to what you might think, a custom PC isn’t necessarily just for gaming. It can also be used as an epic work device to get you motivated for those early morning WFH meetings. Pair this with a comfy chair and an adjustable desk, and you might not want to leave your room.
On top of a new showroom that resembles the interior of the Millenium Falcon and a massive production bay, another thing to keep an eye out for is its expanded HQ, which is slated to be an impressive 41,000 sqft.
As for now, Aftershock’s new showroom is open to the public, so head down for some gaming gear, WFH furniture and cool pics with that BBT PC.
