This one is pretty self-explanatory. When you’re at work, you gotta work. There’s no two ways about it. So close that Facebook tab and put away the phone. Focus on the work at hand. When you go home for the day you’ll feel much better cos you were productive!

2. Develop new skills



Simply put, you need to stand out from the crowd. The more you know, the more of an asset you’ll be to the company. And who are the ones who get promoted? The ones who can contribute.

Skills-upgrading courses are easily available at various training providers and you can get funding from NTUC or the government to save money!

3. Be well-liked at your workplace



I don’t mean you should channel you inner mean girl and I definitely don’t mean that you should be someone you’re not but you’ve got to be likeable. You need to be able to get along with your peers and your superiors because they will be looking for someone they can work with.
