What is the Harlem Shake? The best Singapore & Malaysia versions.

Jinnyboytv’s version

What is the Harlem shake?

An internet meme that went viral on youtube in February 2013 at an insane rate. First originating on Feb 2, it went on to have over 40,000 variations created with over 175 million views by Feb 15.

The typical video lasts just 30 seconds and with the song “Harlem Shake” by Baauer playing. The first 15 seconds shows a lone guy usually with a helmet/mask dancing while everyone else in the background seems oblivious and indifferent. When the bass drops, the next 15 seconds has everyone in the background going nuts doing the most insane things! I think they used to dance. But now the videos have evolved to them doing the most random things from karate kicks to push-ups and abusing stuffed giraffes!

Its probably so popular because of how short the clip is and the anticipation of that crazy moment. Here are the best Singapore & Malaysia Harlem Shakes I have found so far, as well as a few of the best international versions. I personally found them very entertaining. Enjoy them before they become too annoying, like a certain style in Gangnam.
