Feng Shui Inn Chinese New Year Specials

About Feng Shui Inn

Feng Shui Inn is a fine dining Cantonese restaurant from RWS, located in the lower floors of Crockfords Tower. If you’ve seen a hotel area cordoned off at RWS, you were probably looking at the exclusive Crocksford tower.

It is their “invitation only” hotel, so the minute you enter you’ll escape the bustling crowd outside. On the day we were there, the lobby was empty and quiet. It felt like we stepped into another world. If you’re here to pay Feng Shui Inn a visit, you can just walk over and take the lift down to G2.

Feng Shui Inn’s Chinese New Year Menu

From the 20th Jan to the 14th of Feb 2014, Feng Shui Inn will be serving up special Chinese New Year menus designed by Chef Li Kwok Kwong. Their Yu Sheng (Lo Hei) appetiser is done up in the shape of this year’s horse, and it has to be one of the prettiest Yu Sheng’s I’ve ever seen! I felt so bad when we had to start tossing it up for good fortune, haha.

The waitress will nicely prepare the Yu Sheng infront of you while wishing you prosperity one by one. Some of the ingredients featured were mackerel and silver fish and even strips of bak gwa. It’s available at $128 per order for dine-in only.

Here’s a look at some of the other dishes.

Braised New Year 8 Treasures Pen Cai

Sautéed Grouper Fillet with Fish Roe

Golden Ingot Pineapple Pastry

This entirely edible Golden Ingot ($88) is a clever addition to the Chinese New Year menu. You’re supposed to knock it open with a hammer provided and out comes 8 mini ingots!

The service staff were impeccably dressed putting us right in the festive mood. Another dish is the Braised Imperial Bird’s Nest with abalone sauce and organic shreaded potato ($118 per person).

These dishes are available as priced above and also as a luxurious 8 course spread starting from $1,118 for a table of 6 and $1,688 for a table of 10.

Festive Goods

Feng Shui Inn also does takeaways and its festive hamper set includes

  • Dry Abalone
  • Grand AA Bird’s Nest
  • One can of abalone
  • One miniature bottle of Chinese Wiine
  • Wild Bamboo Pith
  • Premium Taiwan Tea
  • Feng Shui Inn’s Premium Homemade Cookies

It is priced at $488 per set and is available for takeaways from 10 January to 14 February.
