Major Cineplex, a major theatre chain in Thailand, released a photo of their new seating pattern after cinemas are allowed to reopen today, 1st June, as the lockdown eases off as it approaches phase 3.

This would have been just another post-lockdown policy announcement if netizens didn’t point out how lone moviegoers are being pushed aside – like, literally.
Flooded with memes & funny comments
Don’t fret, everyone. There’s no serious drama going on here. Instead, netizens made light of the situation and threw in some funny memes and comments, mostly about how single folks need to cope with this situation.
And it’s just pure gold going through them.
Translation: “I came in for a comedy… why am I crying?”

Translation: “Me going in by myself.”
In the sea of sadness, some hopelessly-romantic folks pointed out the positive side and suggested that all the lone wolves might meet their special someone there if they book 1 spot of a paired seat.
Translation: “Strangers [can] come and sit together and fall in love.”
Translation: “I wish I meet someone cute. LOL.”
‘No food & drinks policy’ debunked

Over the past week, there has been a rumour about banning food and drinks in the theatres to prevent the audience from touching food with their hands and removing their masks.
However, Major Cineplex addressed the rumour on their Facebook page, saying everyone can still enjoy their drinks and popcorn after the reopening.
We recommend everyone to always clean your hands properly before munching on popcorn and put on a mask after you’re done eating.
