Rescue team surprises trainee with birthday cake
Birthdays are a time to celebrate. Whether it’s the fact that we gained some new wisdom, achieved our annual goals, or simply that we persevered through another year.
Whatever the reason, it’s nice to commemorate the day that we graced this earth with our presence. What makes the day even even better, though, is when we have other people to celebrate with, or even make a bigger deal about our birth than we would.
Here’s the story of how a birthday boy’s teammates gave him a magical day to remember.

Trainee receives first birthday surprise
On 15th January 2022, Thai TikToker, @e4v5m6, posted a heartwarming video of a rescue team trainee receiving his first-ever birthday cake.
From the hashtags in the TikTok’s caption, it appears that a volunteer rescue team from the Siam Rayong foundation is responsible for this wholesome event.

It starts off with a beaming teenager holding a cake that reads, “Happy birthday Nong (Younger) Toer”.
While his smile still remains throughout the video, Toer begins to cry what we can only believe are tears of joy.

He is then quickly consoled by someone who appears to be his father, who states “Tell them that this is the first time you’ve ever received such a gift”.
If this kind act doesn’t exemplify teamwork, then we don’t know what does.
TikTok users with Toer a “happy birthday”
With a video this wholesome, we’re not surprised that the TikTok has amassed over 129K likes and 3.8K comments. Of those 3,000 comments, most of them are from netizens who are wishing the boy a “happy birthday”. Let’s see what their well-wishes are.

While most of the messages are iterations of birthday wishes like these, there are also some that reflect on this specific momentous occasion.

There was also one comment that explained the boy’s reaction.

Translation: For kids who’ve never had a birthday party, just a small cake means the world to them. I’m one of those kids.
It’s a shame that there are children like this commenter who have never had a birthday party. However, we can certainly hope that they will find chosen families, like Toer did, to celebrate with them.
It’s the little things
For some, receiving a cake can be an everyday activity. However, for individuals like Toer who have never been surprised with such a treat, it can truly make their day – and maybe even their year.
So, in the future, let’s try to celebrate in small ways with our loved ones.
Whether it’s their birthday, a promotion or whatever they’re celebrating, you never know what a small token of celebration can bring.
