Generous portion of chicken in boxes of chicken rice

A Thai woman shared a pic of her meal to the public Facebook group called “Chicken Rice Lovers Club (ชมรมคนรักข้าวมันไก่)” on the 26th of October. In the post, she says that she was shocked when she opened up the typical styrofoam box that Thai takeout comes in.

She even says that despite this being a regular-sized order, she could barely see the rice behind all the chicken.

Also included were 3 pieces of chicken blood, which is definitely not visible in the picture.

The meal is extremely cheap for the portion at just ฿55 (~USD1.50)

Yanisa Chicken Rice owner leaves a comment on the viral post

The shop in question is called “Yanisa Chicken Rice (ญาณิศาข้าวมันไก่)”, named after its owner who also left a comment on the post.

The eatery sits in the Bang Pa-in District of Ayutthaya and it is basically a hole-in-the-wall establishment with a food cart reminiscent of the many Chaixi noodle carts littered around Bangkok.

The shop also sells chicken noodles with bittergourd and a hearty Tom Yum soup.

Generosity is its own reward

This is a great example of how being reasonably generous with food is important. The shop owner was able to get a free marketing boost and an influx of interested customers after people felt touched and slightly surprised by the taste and the portions.

So next time you have the chance to be generous, do so. Or if you see someone being kind, tell them you appreciate their effort. It’ll go a long way.
