Motorcyclist attacks taxi driver

Facebook page Hear on Board posted a video of an anonymous motorcyclist assaulting a 53-year-old taxi driver, Kittipong Magjongdee, which shocked viewers. This incident took place on the evening of 14th August 2019, at Rama 2 road near Sakae Ngam expressway side road.

In the graphic video, which was taken from the car’s dashcam, the taxi driver appeared to get stabbed in the chest while seated in his car.

The video shows that the motorcyclist stabbed the taxi Mr. Magjongdee right in the chest, where his pocket was. Miraculously, there was a stack of folded ฿20 notes inside, which prevented the knife from penetrating his skin.

All started from taxi driver’s honking

All this started when Mr. Magjongdee honked at the motorcyclist for driving too close to his taxi. Apparently, the honking caused the motorcyclist’s blood to boil, and he went after the car before threatening him with a short knife all while banging on the passenger door.

The taxi uncle then pulled over and stepped out of the car to try resolving the issue. He tried to sort it out by talking, but it was not before long when the motorcyclist started attacking again – this time with a short knife to the chest. The taxi’s second dashcam also captured the moment Mr. Magjongdee got punched till he fell and hit his head on the footpath.

When paramedics came to the scene, the motorcyclist had fled the area – but not before telling onlookers that it was the taxi uncle was the one that started all this mess.

Although the knife didn’t hurt Mr. Magjongdee, his fall did. He needed three stitches on his head.

Hot-headed attacker turned himself in

Last Sunday, Mr. Magjongdee reported the matter to Samae Dam Police Station, and the police started working to discover who it was under the helmet.

However, in a twist of events, the motorcyclist turned himself on the night of 19th August 2019. He turned out to be a 27-year-old man named Sittichai Urai. He decided to go to the police himself as felt guilty and wanted to apologise both Mr. Magjongdee and everyone who witnessed the scene for having a hot temper.

Sittichai will be arrested with 3 charges: physical assault, carrying lethal weapons, and reckless driving. More investigation will be done to see if charges on attempted murder can be pressed.

This story could have turned out to be a tragedy if not for the stack of money. But seriously, nobody should get injured or killed over trivial arguments.

Be kind to one another, understanding, and reasonable – and most importantly, violence is not the answer.
