For visitors and Bangkokians looking for a chill night out, here are 8 bars that are easy to get to with good vibes and drinks to match, all located near BTS stations around central Bangkok. That means escaping the BKK jam and getting home safe!

1. Taproom – large variety of quality craft beers

Nearest BTS: 3 minutes from Ari

Standing out from other bars in the Ari area with its bright neon lights, Taproom is heaven on earth for all craft beer fans. Here, you’ll be offered with so many choices of craft beer, along with extensive information about each drink.

If you show up with no idea about beer and want to try them out, go for the Beer Flight (฿926). This includes a selection of 6 beers of your choice, which you can pick from the bar’s 14 taps. Beer fans recommend going with Original Maisel’s Weisse, and Brew Dog’s Jet Black Heart

Taproom isn’t all about beers – they’ve also got interesting drinks like strawberry sundae flavoured cider.

Peak-a-Boo Cafe and Bar sits hidden on the 5th floor of Victory Mall, a shopping mall close to Victory Monument. It’s separated into an indoor and outdoor zone, which means you’ll get to enjoy the sights of Bangkok while here – all while being really close to the BTS.

Aside from the usual bar vibes and live music experiences, Peak-a-Boo is famous for Chess Shots (฿450/ round). And if you find yourself really enjoying it, you can get a refill at just ฿250 a game. Other fun activities include Jenga with shots and childhood games like Tumblin’ Monkeys.

Skate Cafe and Bar, or as the locals call Skate for short, is a bar in Coco Walk Plaza, Ratchathewi. It has a unique theme – check out the chairs made out of skateboards – giving the place a young and energetic vibe. Aside from its cool interior, the bar also offers pocket-friendly promotions and live music performances for visitors to enjoy.

Skate offers beer promotions with one ice bucket for free like:

4. Wishbeer Home Bar – bar that looks like an old basketball court

Tucked away in a warehouse is Wishbeer Home Bar, which is set to look like an old basketball court! This bar and restaurant serves up a variety of craft beers and other alcoholic beverages imported from all over the world. Plus, the interesting setting will make you feel like you’re not even in a bar, which is something new.

There are many choices of beers that start from the price of  ฿160. If you’re no beer expert, don’t worry – the menu provides information about each drink, from things like aroma and flavour to the country of origin and alcohol by volume. Dumbo Jazz & Vinyl Bar is an American-inspired open air bar located on the 6th floor of an office building. Customers come to this rooftop location to escape the chaos of Bangkok, enjoying a relaxing jazz playlist playing classic tunes. There’s a live band that performs here too. You’ll also be able to see the BTS lines going by, paired with a nice panoramic view of the city.

6. WhAB – cafe that becomes a bar at night

Located right by Sanam Pao BTS, WhAB is a cafe by day and a bar by night. There bar has a special line-up of band performances too, so pick a day to head down depending your music taste. 

Many locals enjoy coming here to hang out with their friends – so if you’re here with your buddies, be sure to get a Pitcher of Tiger Beer (฿280).

Saxophone Pub and Restaurant is a jazz bar where you’re likely to meet other fans of the genre. Aside from music performances which you can check out on their website, this 2-story bar also provides a variety of beers and good food.

8. Kenshin Izakaya – authentic Japanese izakaya-style bar

With Sakura tree decorations and signs in Japanese, Kenshin Izakaya will transport you to an authentic Japanese bar and make you forget you’re in Bangkok. 

Asahi is the beer of choice for customers here, you can go for a pint of draught beer starting from ฿88. Plus, you have more unique beer flavours to choose from, like Fujiyama Sakura and Hokkaido Lavender with prices starting from ฿108
