In Malaysia, the bakery is targeting its first outlet opening in KL by the end of 2022, with four more outlets expected to open in the country in 2023. If you can’t get enough of the bakery’s offerings of French-inspired baked goods and more, they plan to open at least five outlets in Malaysia a year.

In a separate statement, the SPC group-owned Paris Baguette Singapore also introduced the bakery’s very first Halal-certified bakery manufacturing and distribution centre, SPC Centre in Johor – this likely means that all Malaysians can look forward to enjoying baked goods from Paris Baguette soon.

According to a statement of the President of SPC Group, Mr Hur Jin-Soo, he mentioned that the SPC Centre in Johor will act as a cornerstone of the company’s Southeast Asia business expansion and assist in the venture into the Middle East. “Malaysia presents an exciting opportunity for our brand as we enter a new decade of Paris Baguette in Southeast Asia, and further strengthens our growing presence in the region”, he said.

For the uninitiated, Paris Baguette first opened in 1988 as a casual bakery cafe in South Korea and has stayed true to the spirit of sangmidang ever since. It quickly became one of the most popular neighbourhood bakeries in South Korea, serving freshly-baked breads, sweet cakes and delicious coffee, now enjoyed by many around the world – including in Malaysia, soon.

Though the exact location of its first outlet in Malaysia has yet to be confirmed, we can expect the bakery to have a modern interior with European accents in its decor, as well as comfortable seating areas for patrons to enjoy their freshly baked and brew pastries and coffees.

For instance, the Singapore chain had a series of limited-edition croissants that include Rendang Croissant Sandwich, Milo Cream Croissant, Bandung Croissant and Condensed Milk Croissant.
